The Animal Rezzer is a free item found at the VMD store. You can load animals into the rezzer and have the rezzer place them in a circle around the Animal Rezzer. It’s a nice way to keep your animals neat and orderly and to rez out several at a time.
Get a new one from the store and replace your old ones..
Rez this box and click it to unpack it. When it unpacks you’ll get a new folder in your inventory.
Look inside this new folder for the Animal Rezzer and simply rez it out and position it where you want it. Once it’s positioned, select the Number of animals to rez and the Distance desired, load it with the animals (either CTRL+DRAG or Edit and drag to contents) and then click the Rez button.
You can see your current settings in the popup box whenever you bring up the menu (number of animals, distance, facing direction, arrange on/off, etc.).
There are some other options and various things you should know so please refer to the Buttons section below for more details.
Arrange = Turn this On if you want your animals rezzed in a specific sequence. For example, if you want your circle of cattle alternating cow, bull, cow, bull, cow, bull, etc., then you would turn Arrange On FIRST and then load the animals into the Rezzer in that sequence (first load a cow, then a bull, then a cow, etc.). If the sequence doesn’t matter to you, then leave Arrange Off (the default). NOTE: Do NOT toggle the Arrange button to On after you load animals. When Arrange is On, the Rezzer looks for the sequence list it builds when you were loading the animals and if the animals are already loaded into the rezzer it won’t find it and you’ll get an error that the Rezzer can’t the animals.
Facing = This button toggles between facing In (animals facing the Rezzer) or facing Out (animals facing away from the Rezzer). NOTE: This may work opposite depending on which animals you are using. It typically works fine with the older, original animals. However, some of the later animals may not be created with all their axis (X, Y, and Z) set to 0 so you may find some of the newer animals facing the wrong direction or even sideways. Some editing on your part may be necessary.
Test = Rezzes a ring of boxes showing you the placement of the animals and allows you to test your Distance and Number settings. The boxes will automatically disappear after a few seconds.
Rez = Rezzes the animals in a circle around the Animal Rezzer according to your Distance and Number settings. If you find the overall height of all the animals is not what you desire, Edit and select ALL the animals and also the Animal Rezzer box. Position them where you want them and then from that point on, the Animal Rezzer will rez them at that height (provided you do not move the Animal Rezzer).
NOTE: The Rezzer attempts to place the animals at an equal distance from each other. However, some animals are created with the Root Prim slightly off center so some may appear closer to one animal than the other. Also, if you’re rezzing an odd number that doesn’t divide well into a 360 degree circle, you may also see slight distance differences. You can edit them if you like to make fine adjustments.
Cancel = Closes the menu.
Number = Allows you to select the number of animals to rez. If none of the buttons meet your needs, click the Custom button and enter a value.
Distance = Allows you to select the distance (in SL meters) for each animal to rez from the Rezzer. Nine (9) meters is the maximum because the Rezzer assumes food and water will be at the center of the circle and exceeding this distance may mean some of your animals can’t eat or drink.
