Celebration Certificates

Each week we award teacher’s certificates to those children who have worked hard and shown a good attitude to their learning.  This term we have also introduced a values certificate and these are awarded to children who have demonstrated one or all of the school values during the week.  We will publish children’s names on the newsletter to celebrate this with our families.

Christingle Service

On Sunday the 28th of January at 10.30 am to 11.15 am there will be a Christingle Service at St Andrew’s Church.  The year 4 class will be researching this topic and will be given the opportunity to help lead this service.  All children who attend will be able to make a Christingle to take home.  The collection will be going to the ‘Children’s Society’ to help disadvantaged children.  Everyone is welcome to join and it would be great to see some new faces.  There will be refreshments after the service.

School Council

Today the school council gave a presentation to the whole school around making healthy choices and having a balanced diet.  The children completed their own research last term as to what items children were having for packed lunch.   They were pleased to see that the majority of children were drinking water at lunchtime but they were worried that more children had crisps and chocolate in their packed lunches than fruit.  The school council have arranged a tasting day this week for children to try some new fruits or vegetables that are in season and would like to see more children having at least one piece of fruit or raw veg in their lunch box.  If children have one at playtime (which is provided by the school) and one at lunchtime then they are well on the way to their ‘5 a day’.

Class Pages

Please remember to visit the Class Pages which can be found on the school website under the Parent Pages tab OR follow the link at the top of the page!  Here you will find the topic webs and class letters for the term.
