Dear Students and Parents,

 

It is a pleasure to welcome you to the new 2019-20 school year beginning August 13, 2019. Ramay Junior High continues to push for academic achievement that ensures all of our students are prepared for the next stages of school and life.

 

For all 7th and 8th grade students and parents, you will have the opportunity to pick-up your students schedule on Tuesday August 6 anytime from 3:00-6:00pm in the Ramay Cafeteria. This is a night to pick-up your schedule and  acclimate yourself to Ramay… teachers will not be available on this night. There will be student leadership groups available to show you around. If you can’t make this event, you can pick-up schedules throughout the week from 9-3pm in the Ramay office or simply print it online via the parent viewer after August 7th.

Ramay Open House  will be on Tuesday, August 27 from 4:00-6:45 pm starting in the Cafeteria. This is a time to meet teachers, visit with some community resources (details to come), and hear our report to the public (Q&A with admin).

Some information for the start of school…

 Car Drop off and pick-up

Start of School Day:  Students may be dropped off as early as 7:30 AM.  Upon arrival, students are to go to the courtyard in the middle of the building until entering for breakfast at 7:45 or to go to lockers at 8:18.  If inclement weather exists, students are allowed to enter at 7:30 AM and wait in the cafeteria (only if eating) or gymnasium until the 8:15 bell. Inclement weather includes rain, sleet, snow, or temperature below 32 degrees.

Tardy Policy:  Students arriving after 8:25 AM must go to the main office to get an admittance slip.  Students arriving to school late without proper documentation will receive lunch detention for that day.  All students are expected to be in class by 8:25 AM each day.

 

First day of school is Tuesday, August 13th.  Students may enter the Cafeteria for breakfast at 7:45, but only if eating.  All other students will wait in the courtyard and may enter the building at 8:18am.  The tardy bell will ring at 8:25am.  Please do not be late to school!!!

 

Dress Code; students should dress for success, please wear appropriate attire that is suitable for school. The district dress code policy can be found on the district website. The current handbook is being updated, but dress code has not been altered.

 

Schedule Changes:  Changes can be requested and will only be made with administrator approval.
