I believe that dogs are better than cats. I agree that cats are still lovely, but I enjoy dogs even more. In my report, I will outline three arguments that will support my thinking and convince you to side with me.

Firstly, dogs are loyal companions, and will love you if you love them back. Even though they may cost more than cats, they are more committed to you, and are very obedient and are more likely to stay than cats. Also, they cannot climb, so that means that it is less easy for them to run away than cats. If you take the time to train them, they will be able to perform cool tricks, like playing dead on command, rolling over, speaking on command and much more.

Secondly, dogs are very playful, so if you have a child and are too tired to entertain them constantly, a dog is the thing for you! They will cuddle, lick, and play with you, so forget about being bored! And even though dogs require you to clean them alot, and need you to provide food for them, they can help with hunting, and are very loving and trust you more than cats. Also, did you know that in the wars, people used to use dogs to carry messages and resources? Cool, right? And dogs can be used as police dogs, guides for blind people, sniffing out bombs or illegal drugs, and can even help figuring out if a person has cancer or another disease in them! Can cats do all that? No, no they can’t.

Lastly, dogs will guard and protect their owners and family from thieves, and just people who are trying to harm you! They also notify you if there are any visitors arriving, so that can be good if you’re expecting mail! They will attack anyone who attacks you, and will keep other animals such as racoons, cats, and any animal you don’t want on your property away, by chasing them off. Dogs are very protective in general, so you wouldn’t have to worry about being stolen from in the middle of the night!

For the reasons outlined above, I believe that dogs are better and more loving than cats!
