THOUGHTS FROM ALISON…

Spring is here! I am enjoying the green while it lasts. We are getting prepared for the Farmer's Market starting in mid-May. Friends of the Woodland Public Library along with the Literacy Council plan on giving out books and talking about our programming on Saturdays throughout the season. Won't you join us? You can find out more about this volunteer opportunity by contacting us at woodlandfol@gmail.com.

COCKTAILS FOR A CAUSE

Join us on First Friday during the Art Walk and grab a drink to help our library! Stop in to support the Friends of the Woodland Public Library (FOL) at this month’s First Friday Art Walk on April 5, starting at 5:30 pm at Mojo’s Lounge and Bar, 428 First Street.

Mojo’s is sponsoring the FOL for the month of April with a specially designed Cocktail for a Cause. 25% of the profits from every Mojo’s Cocktail for a Cause sold during the month of April will be donated to the FOL. In addition, FOL President Alison Borkowska will be showing her photography and mixed-media art pieces during the month of April with 100% of artwork sales sold during the month of April to be donated to the FOL.

PRESTON SHARP

Friends of the Woodland Public Library, Lee Middle School and the Veteran Community proudly invite you to a presentation and meet and greet with Preston Sharp, “The Pied Piper of Patriotism” on April 19 at 1:10 p.m. at Lee Middle School, 520 West Street, Woodland, CA.

Thirteen year old Preston has made it his goal to honor Veterans across the country. According to Preston, “Veterans fought for our freedoms and risked their lives whether or not we realized it or appreciated it. Without the services of our veterans, we would not have the freedoms we do today. Veterans have served all of us. This is why I have made it my mission to Honor Veterans every day, not just the holiday. Please join me in honoring our Veterans.

What is TAB (Teen Advisory Board)?

TAB is a group of dedicated and caring teens, ages 12-18 in either middle or high school, who earn volunteer service hours by planning, promoting and hosting events for teens in the community. Members agree to bring an open-minded, non-judgmental, positive attitude and treat others who they would want to be treated.

Interested teens can fill out a TAB application at the library or online at TAB application. Click on teens,
