- New Business:
- (Anthony Barnes): Discussed identifying new members for the future leaders of the NSCVEB. Advisors requesting to delay the election for 90 days, delaying the election to November. New officers will take over in January. This is a one-time occurrence due to current readiness.
- All officers have accepted to extend their tenure as acting officers until the board has elected new leadership
- Bruce Randall agrees that the 90 day delay is a good idea, and will allow time to build and confirm the NSCVEB membership
- Current leadership is working to put together a script, and outreach program
- Shari Fletcher made motion to delay election for 90 days (2nd’ed by Bruce Randall)
- All board members in agreeance to delay elections for 90 days – no discussion
- (Adam Packham & Ashley Moslak) discussed concern with By-Laws in reference to “Advisors” serving term of 2 years.
- Solutions: Remove the term limit. Allowing Advisors to stay on as long as they feel necessary
- Solution: Modify the bylaw to reflect the judiciary team’s term limits since they are to work cohesively with the advisors.
- Shari Fletcher made motion modify the bylaws for the advisors to serve at the pleasure of the board until they resign or until board members elect for their removal. Seconded by Rich Petro. All board members in agreeance – no discussion
- ARTICLE II, Section II par.viii:
- Changed: “The advisor will serve no longer than one term limit of two years and position will be filled if deemed necessary by the board”
- To read: “The advisor position will be filled as deemed necessary by the board and shall serve at the pleasure of the board.”
- Additional motion from Patti Wilson for a 90 day notice for advisors to resign from position
