2019 Juried Photography Exhibition at CTAC – Winners Announced
On Saturday, January 19, Crooked Tree Arts Center opened three photography exhibitions at its Petoskey location: The “2019 Juried Photography Exhibition;” “2019 Crooked Tree Photographic Society Juried Fine Art Show;” and “Here and There,” an exhibition showcasing the work of photographers Jin Lee, Larson Shindelman, and Regan Golden.
The “2019 Juried Photography Exhibition,” juried by Emeritus Professor of Photography John Fergus-Jean, MFA, former curator of photography and a master photographic printer, includes 43 photographs by photographers of local and regional acclaim.
During the opening reception, three awards were presented, including: First Place to David Lutz for “Cotton Wood,” sponsored by Korthase Flinn Insurance & Financial Services; Second Place to Daniel Combs for “Fragility,” sponsored by Ollar Consulting; and Third Place to Diane Gracy for “10 Trees,” sponsored by Dennis, Gartland & Niergarth (DGN). Honorable Mentions include: Robert Hoffman’s “Antelope Canyon Abstract;” Raymond Gaynor’s “Tranquil Reflection – Crooked River;” and Gary Gee’s “Morning Light.”
“This year’s exhibition presents a thoughtful selection of diverse works exploring the many faces of photography,” said Liz Erlewine, Galleries Director for the Crooked Tree Arts Center.
The “2019 Juried Photography Exhibition” and “Here and There” will both be on display through Saturday, March 30, while the “2019 Crooked Tree Photographic Society Juried Fine Art Show” will be on display through Saturday, March 2.
