XR (Extinction Rebellion) - Saviours of the world or naive troublesome hippies?

Come along and find out more about exactly what XR is, what their members stand for, what their aims are, and how they justify their tactics of mass civil disobedience.

Is this just a passing fad or does it herald a fundamental shift in society’s thinking?

Our speaker, Lonan Jenkins, is a storyteller, writer, teacher, and performer. He is a member of XR; having been actively involved in the occupation of Oxford Circus, Waterloo Bridge and Marble Arch.

He is primarily focused on outreach and how to engage people not already involved with the movement, and who are uncertain, or unaware, or unconvinced, of the climate emergency our planet faces.

Topics for talks TBC

Western Sahara and the Sahrawi refugees

Ethics of UK arms trade

Sikhism

Brexit and a British bill of rights

The Bahá'í Faith

Disabled life in Britain
