Qualls Academy

Program Type: The mission of Quall's Academy is to improve the academic achievement, self-esteem, and social competence of young men of color and to enable each one to achieve and recognize their overall potential in their personal, social, and academic lives. Performing Arts

Beyond the 4th Wall

Program Description: Offering Saturday Classes this year both virtually and in person.  Groups train in key performance skills and creativity. In spring they traditionally run a Middle School Musical as well. As soon as safety and policy allows, they will be periodically offering free in-person theatre workshops for registered students.

City Step

Program Description: CityStep is an arts and social impact organization that unites college students and school-age kids through a powerful experience of self-expression, collaboration and mentorship. College students run dance classes for 5th graders at three schools and at a central location for 6th and 7th graders.

Who: for 5, 6, and 7th graders in Cambridge. No dance experience required - CityStep is about fun and expression

Program Type: Classes are taught by MassArt students majoring in Art Education and supervised by MassArt Art Education faculty. Parkour Generations

Program Type: Parkour Generations is a movement discipline in which participants learn to move their bodies through their environment, overcoming mental and physical obstacles, conquering challenges, and learning to apply these skills in the real world.

Who:

“Kids” classes are for 6-13yrs old, “Teen & Pre-Teen” is 11-15yrs old and one class is specifically for 6-9yr olds.

Parkour is easily adaptable by instructor to make things more or less challenging

Science Club for Girls

Program Type: This fall, 250 girls in grades K-8 will focus on the physical characteristics of our home—Earth. Students will learn about what comprises the Earth, essential processes, how things survive and grow, and most importantly, our impact on the earth and how we can protect our Earth.

Young people in grades K-8 who identify as female or non-binary.
