Updates from the Interim Vice Provost for Enrollment Management
- Winter 2024 enrollment overall was up 9.37% from Winter 2023. The Undergraduate and Graduate Admission Offices, the Student Success Center, Financial Aid, Registrar, and K-12 Partners all worked diligently to ensure Winter 2024 continued on a positive trajectory, following the increase in enrollment Fall 2023. A sincere Thank You to all of our Academic Advisors for their continuous support of our students and ensuring their registration and academic support needs are being met.
- The Office of Financial Aid is helping to meet the needs of our campus and K-12 Community Partners in getting the word out about the 2024-25 FAFSA Simplification changes. To date, 30 FAFSA filing events are being conducted late January through February. As the result of several factors with the 24-25 FAFSA provided by Federal Student Aid, the Office of Financial Aid anticipates a delay in being able to make aid offers. We will keep campus updated as we learn more.
- Over the past few months, the Office of the Registrar has been working with partners across campus to support the schedule building process for the fall 2024 semester. As a part of the schedule building process, we have been working to implement a new field in the schedule called "instructional method." This new field will help students to search for courses offered in their preferred modality and better understand how a particular section is being delivered before registering.
- The Office of the Registrar has also been working diligently to process catalog changes for the Fall 2024 catalog. We saw a staggering increase in new programs, new courses, program revisions, and course revisions for this catalog with an increase in curricular items of over 84% from 2023 and 77% over a five year average. A special "Thank You!" goes out to Masharri Rogers, Jaclyn Carter, and Stephanie Kile for all of the work they are doing to ensure we meet our catalog deadlines.
- The Student Success Center developed a series of new Student Support Workshops. To date these have been well attended. The series runs through the month of March.
