The group will depart from the parking lot closest to the 4-way stop sign in FFG at the corner of Peavine and Stonehenge at 8:00a.m. SHARP. Please be there between 7:30a.m and 7:45a.m to receive information and form carpools. If you ride with someone else to and from the hike the policy is to reimburse the driver for gas. The amount to reimburse the driver for this hike is $0.00 per person. Please have the correct amount. After the hike we will travel to Sparta TN to Happy Trails Brewery to celebrate the end of the hiking season. We hope to be back by approximately 4:00pm.

Please arrive by 7:45am. Our guide will discuss the highlights of the hike, answer any questions, and provide driving directions to the trailhead. Promptly, at 8:00am, we will depart to the chosen trailhead. Each hiker is responsible for their own transportation to the trailhead. Car pool opportunities, while not guaranteed, are usually available.
Hiking has risks, and safety is our highest priority on every outing. The hiking group assumes no collective or individual liability for any mishaps. Hiking is at your own risk. Participants should be in good physical condition. Hiking boots & poles are strongly recommended
The hike of the week will be determined by the weather and trail availability.
I am open to suggestions for other hikes, just let me know.

Anyone interested in hiking in the beautiful Cumberland Mountains as well as meeting new people is welcome. Hikers will meet in the pavilion by the parking lot for the Square (across from Wyndham) at the intersection of Peavine Road and Stonehenge Drive between hi 7:30 and 7:45 a.m. Information about the hike will be distributed. General guidelines for rating hikes are less than five miles and less than 1,000 feet elevation gains are EASY, hikes between five and eight miles with elevation gains of less than1500 feet are MODERATE and hikes over 8 miles or with substantial elevation gains and rough terrain are STRENUOUS. Please assess your level of fitness to the difficulty of the hike so that you can keep up with the group.

If you feel sick, such as having a fever, chills, cough, etc., please refrain from joining us on this hike. Get healthy, and we hope to see you when you feel better.
Please, always check in with the leader at the pavilion before going to the trailhead, because plans may change at the last minute due to weather or trail conditions. Also, sometimes the leader will change where we will park if there are too many cars for some of the smaller trailhead parking areas.
