Boise Trans Collective tries to make events for everyone, but we understand if they’re not for you, or if you want something else as well!

Looking for something more aligned with some specific interests, or want to get involved in some political or mutual aid action? Check out these local groups and resources:


Mutual Aid and Political Orgs:

ACLU Idaho: Defending and advancing the civil rights and civil liberties of all Idahoans.

Idaho Abortion Rights: Boise-based mutual aid that advocates for reproductive rights and stocks free reproductive resource boxes at several locations in the Treasure Valley. These boxes provide emergency contraception (Plan B), condoms, and pregnancy tests – all for free! Check out the list of box locations here.

W/REST Collective: Community funded, sliding scale legal support that represents clients for eviction, police misconduct, and discrimination cases, and more!

Idaho Democratic Queer Caucus: A queer-led organization dedicated to advancing equality, representation, and inclusivity for LGBTQIA2S+ individuals within our home state of Idaho.

Trans/Queer Community:

NeuroQueer Collective: An inclusive gathering for neurodivergent adults that meet monthly or so, usually to do quiet crafts and engage in unmasked, relaxed conversation.

Trans Affirm Idaho: Trans Affirm, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting trans and gender-diverse individuals across Idaho. We provide essential resources, advocacy, and education to ensure our community has access to gender-affirming care, support networks, and vital services.

The Community Center: LGBT+ space that hosts events themselves, and in coordination with several other local groups, including craft nights, movie nights, and group therapy. They also have a food pantry open to anyone!

Trans Village Project: Local group aiming to provide permanent and temporary housing to minorities fleeing red states (formally TransHoming Project).

Trans Joy Boise: Organizers of Idaho’s first Trans Pride March. Plans community events such as support groups and demonstrations, and hosts a weekly support group at Roots Zero Waste Market.

Pride Foundation Scholarships: Pride Foundation provides essential financial resources and community support to LGBTQ+ student leaders across the Northwest. One application applies you for 60+ scholarships; available to residents of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington, even if you go to school elsewhere.

Clutch Nampa: Provides a safe space for LGTBQ+ youth ages 14-20 every Thursday. Now also hosts a quarterly community night for those 18+.

PFLAG Boise/Treasure Valley: Local branch of PFLAG (once, Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays), the nation’s largest organization dedicated to supporting and advocating for LGBTQ+ people and their families.

Imperial Sovereign Gem Court of Idaho: a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax deductible, social/charitable and membership organization incorporated in the State of Idaho and whose purpose is to provide funds and services to other non-profit organizations. The Court was originally established in 1980 and is the oldest LGBT+ non-profit in Idaho!

The Gem Court raises funds throughout the year via various fundraisers and donations from individuals and businesses. We also have several established funds to benefit persons who are HIV positive, for scholarships to LGBT students attending an Idaho School, as well as a food pantry fund.

Religious/Spiritual:

Boise Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Church: Inclusive, spiritually diverse, justice-seeking, religious community. Regularly host LGBT+ events, including a yearly service for Transgender Day of Remembrance.

Other:

Boise Hive: A safe, all-ages, sober space for fostering a supportive, creative musician’s community in Idaho. We empower musicians and other artists through access to mental health and wellness services, programs and events, and other resources to thrive, including free counseling and other mental health services.

Boise Brick House: A teen-driven after school drop-in center for relaxation with friends, homework, free food, fun activities, and empowering conversations about mental wellness.

Idaho Sierra Club: The Idaho Chapter Sierra Club is the leading grassroots environmental organization in the state, bringing people together to explore, enjoy, & protect the planet. They hold LGBT+-specific outdoor outings, open to all experience levels, including hikes, bike rides, and first-time camping and backpacking trips.

Boise Pride Pages: Boise Metro Directory of LGBTQ+ business owners and allies who serve the gay, lesbian, transgender, nonbinary, bisexual + communities.
