Where We Are Today

TL;DR - No additional resources (time, people, money) are needed at this time.

This week, the team completed scoping and planning for the project. Team members have been allocated to each piece of work, allowing software development to begin this Friday. All outstanding questions related to scope have been resolved and the team is comfortable and confident in meeting our delivery goals.

Insights and Recommendations

There are a few important things to note, although no action is required outside of the project team. I’m sharing this information in the spirit of transparency, so that everyone remains informed of both progress and the decisions that got us there.

  • Quality Engineering is starting their work early. Given the complexity of this work, including the fact that it will require significant coordination with the release team, Quality Engineering has begun creating test plans today. While fairly early in the project lifecycle, it will give them more time to confirm the expected user interactions.
  • [PMs name] has an OOO schedule to begin in two weeks. She’ll be out for 9 business days. To accommodate this, we’ve moved our internal deadlines up a little bit - we want to make sure we have as many questions answered before she goes out so that her absence doesn’t have too much of an impact on the project work. This does not impact the agreed upon delivery or launch dates.
  • The Project team is heads down for the next 4 days - please try to limit impromptu meetings or booking over the scheduled working sessions. If there are any pressing challenges or needs that I can assist with, feel free to message me or grab a few minutes on my calendar.
