Residential Information
The Residential Life team will email you about your dorm and room assignment as the semester draws closer. Feel free to contact them with any questions at residential.life@drbu.edu.
DRBU dormitories will be open for move-in on August 8 (for international students) and August 9 (for all new students) from 8 am to 8 pm. Housing is not available before move-in day.
Each dorm room is for single occupancy. It is furnished with a bed, desk, chair, and a built-in or portable closet. Shared spaces include communal bathrooms, lounges, kitchenette, and laundry facilities.
Students are responsible for bringing the following items:
If you’d prefer to purchase needed items upon arrival, you will find shopping options in our nearby town, Ukiah. There are various stores available including Walmart and Ross, and specialty shops that offer a diverse range of products to cater to your needs. We estimate that the cost of purchasing essential items, such as bedding and toiletries, will range from $150 to $250. Students often go shopping together during orientation week.
The Ukiah area has a mediterranean climate. This means hot, dry summers and cold, wet winters. Here are some suggestions on what clothing to pack:
DRBU offers a “Swap Day” twice a year, which allows students to donate clothes they no longer wear and choose from available items for free. This event provides an opportunity for students to acquire clothing they may be missing.
When packing, remember that the DRBU community follows a code of conduct while on campus, which includes wearing modest clothing that isn’t suggestive or revealing.
