Terms Conditions
Thank you for allowing us to host your private event. The intent of this document is to reiterate the terms and conditions of your event, facilitate your and our expectations. With over 10 years of catering experience, we know that accurate communication is key to a successful event.
Parking is available for your guests in our main lot, along Broadway, in the City Lot, and in Amtrak parking lot at the intersection of Union St. and Erie Boulevard. Prior to 6pm, Broadway and the City Lot may incur an hourly charge from the City of Schenectady. Please inspect postage signage to avoid costly citations.
Venues reserved for special events will incur a fee to secure your booking. This fee is used to defray costs incurred for room setup, cleaning, staffing, linens and other arrangements. The room fee (sometimes referred to as a ‘deposit’) is non-refundable.
Unless special arrangements are made, the typical duration of private events is 3 hours. If the time of your event changes, we will do our best to accommodate with the following caveats:
In the occasion your guests wish to remain longer than the scheduled duration, guests may reposition themselves to our publicly available spaces unless other arrangements are made. We reserve the right to clear venues at the end of scheduled events for cleaning and re-furnishing, as other adjacent bookings may exist for a given space
Please communicate with us regarding any date / time changes to avoid any fees or charges. We will do our best to accommodate you.
COVID and public Health considerations:
We take the safety of our guests and staff very seriously. If a public health issue occurs...
We offer multiple custom and preset options for catering based on the preference of you and your guests. Our catering is based on buffet-style service only. Centre Street does not offer plates meals, hand-passed items or additional ancillary services without prior arrangement.
Our catering is generally based on an 'A la Carte' model. We will work with you to estimate reasonable quantities based on standard serving sizes and varieties of dishes that will satisfy your guests and fit your budget. It is typical of buffet-style catering for certain items may be depleted before others. We can to attempt to replenish depleted items upon your request at the items standard cost, but specially prepared or acquired items may not be available.
Should any ordered food be left at the conclusion of your event, we will happily provide containers and packaging to take home by you or your guests. (This does not apply for per-person priced catering items)
If you or your guests have any dietary restrictions or allergies, please inform us during the event planning process, as we are able to accommodate most, sometimes with pre-arranged substitutions.
Drink packages are subject to a per-person per-hour cost structure based on the total number of guests attending your event. Each drink package has certain minimum offerings which will be made available throughout the duration of your package. Additional beer, wine and liquor offerings will be made available, but will be sold at menu price for guest unless prior arrangements are made. Package prices cannot be applied as credit toward off-package items ordered. Drink packages are subject to tax and gratuity. If your event arrangements allow for guests availing themselves of drinks at other bars on premises, the same package restrictions apply.
Drink Tickets: are also available, and available at each of our drink package tiers. Tickets that are purchased at a 'beer wine and soda' tier (for example) are redeemable for any draught beers, domestic bottles, house wine and soda at your venue's predetermined bar, exclusive of craft beers unless prior arrangements are made. Tickets purchased retain no cash value, and cannot be used as credit toward off-package drinks.
A 'Cash bar' is a popular option for event organizers that want to accommodate every guest regardless of their propensities for certain drinks. If a 'Cash Bar' is implemented for all or part of your event (even if restricted by tickets-per-customer or a pre-defined event drink tab total) voluntary guest gratuity is an expectation. Depending on your event, a 'Bar Setup' fee may be assessed to defray the cost of labor and setup.
We will make every effort to ensure that guests who avail themselves of alcoholic beverages at your event are of legal age ,however any alcohol consumption of minors is your responsibility, and may incur a penalty of up to $500 per violation (person/drink.)
Certain catering and drinks packages are priced per-person, therefore we require an estimated attendance upon booking, and an exact count 7 days prior to your event if your estimate changes. Food and drink packages that are priced ‘per person’ will be assessed at a predetermined rate based on the number of guests expected. If more than 5 guests are added to the party total without prior notice, there may be an additional convenience fee of $5/person.
Drink packages, tickets or other package options are not selectively available per-guest, with the pre-arranged exception of minors.
Guests may not bring their own alcoholic beverages, unless prior arrangements are made with the event organizer and served by one of our bartenders. If certain drinks are desired, be they beer wine or liquor, we will do our best to accommodate.
We offer a variety of services at an additional cost, some of which incur a per-guest-cost, others are a per-service fee.
While we are able to offer a variety of desserts on a pre-arranged basis, it is common and welcome for event planners to bring their own desserts. We will happily provide serving utensils and disposable plating and cutlery for desserts cut and portioned by the event planner, we also offer a formal portioning and plating option for planner-provided desserts at a rate of $3/serving. This service is subject to tax and gratuity.
Centre Street has access to special wine, beer and spirits upon request. Customer provided spirits and drinks under 25% alcohol content by volume are welcome, but will incur a corking fee. As New York State requires licensed bars and restaurants that serve alcohol to be administered by trained staff on premises. This fee applies only to unsealed vessels, as unused customer provided drinks remain property of the customer. Unused portions of opened vessels (kegs, bottles or cans) may be retained by the customer upon request prior to the scheduled end of the event, but will otherwise become property of Centre street.
While you are able to customize audio experience at many of our venues, we cannot guarantee the technical aspects of this service without a 'dry-run' or 'test' 30 min prior to the event.
