Social Committee Charter
The Lakeport Social Committee shall work with the Board of Directors to encourage a sense of community in Lakeport.
Membership
- The Board shall appoint the chair of the Social Committee.
- A Board member shall be designated as the committee’s point of contact and serve as a member of the Social Committee.
- The committee shall have at least two members, including the Board point of contact.
- In addition to regular members of the committee, the chair may recruit coordinators and ad hoc groups to work on various social events.
Responsibilities
- The committee shall welcome new owners and renters with a welcome note that includes a flyer about Lakeport and Safeway gift cards for new owners (purchaser will be reimbursed).
- The committee shall arrange for community-wide events, for example,
- Occasional TGIF gatherings
- Easter Egg Hunt
- A community-wide dock party
- A Halloween parade, group firepits, and trick-or-treating
- Community holiday light celebrations
- Other events that can be one-time affairs or become new traditions
- The committee shall recruit hosts for TGIFs, the “Head Easter Bunny” to oversee the Easter Egg Hunt, and volunteers to help with the dock party and other events.
- The committee shall promote other gatherings of neighbors (e.g., firepits, progressive dinners, popcorn Wednesdays, boat outings).
- The committee shall arrange for announcements and reminders to be sent for all events.
- The committee shall write content for Lakeport’s electronic newsletter and other community-wide communications about upcoming social events and report on prior ones. The committee shall take photos to include in the articles.
