Dear Kiva Community,
We want to provide you with an update on some of the most recent changes:
We regret to report that Kelli Jackson has resigned from the Board of Directors. We appreciate all of the hard work and dedication she has given to our school and we will miss her greatly.
The following is the new structure of the Board of Directors:
We are actively looking for additional Board members. If you are interested in Board membership, please contact us via email@example.com.
We have had some recent staff changes that we want to bring to your attention. Our Finance Director, Urulu Yazzie, has resigned. We appreciate his service and hard work over this last year. We wish him all the best in his future pursuits. Angie Seeley has agreed to assist us through this transition. We are very grateful to have her join us.
We are excited to welcome Danielle Morelli back to our Kiva Community. Danielle is the Lower Elementary classroom assistant. We also welcome Ebony Stiegelmeyer as our new Administrative Assistant and look forward to working with her. Nancy Gummow will also be returning to us after Spring Break, we are happy to have her back. We appreciate all of our staff and the level of dedication they have demonstrated this year.
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
The Board approved the Memorandum of Understanding between Montezuma-Cortez RE-1 School District and Children’s Kiva Montessori School. What does this mean for our school? In the MOU we agree that we will meet all conditions at 100 percent to cure the breach by May 31, 2019. If we are not able to do so, we agree to surrender the Charter without the option to appeal.
Building and Location
The Board approved the leases for 25 N Beech and 215 N Linden, which we will occupy after Spring Break. Additional information and updates on the Mildred location will be forthcoming.
As we prepare for our move at Spring Break and for testing the weeks following Spring Break, we will be relying heavily on volunteers. Please watch for updates and sign-ups on volunteer opportunities. It takes an entire community to run this school!
As always, we appreciate your support and welcome your feedback. If you have any questions or concerns please contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org.
