Tithe-Tenth & Storehouse

Malaka (Malachi)[1] 3:10 THV Version

Translated by Lance Howard

10a) Bring the complete and perfect crowning of The Tenth (the Ten into One) into The Depository. Bring it, with respect, to The Sacred House-Temple-Fortress of wealth, prosperity, and security so there is fresh food, sustenance, and resources in My House.

~ or ~

Bring the finite into the infinite; the limited into the unlimited. Bring your (little) individual experience into The One Experience. Enter into this partnership with The One & Only. Bring the 3-D into 5-D. - poetic paraphrase

~ or ~

“Bring all the things you are thinking about, wondering about, worried about, excited about into The Sacred Storage….”- another poetic paraphrase of Malachi 3:10a

10b) Try Me! I urge you to test this,” says The Great I AM of all “I ams”, “whether or not I will open wide the lattices, and  the vessel doors, and the floodgates of the unlimited realm of vibration, sound, light, and energy, and empty out a pool of prosperity, adoration, praise, and fortune on you so great that you will not have enough space/room to receive it.

Commentary

It is said that in ancient times special storehouses were established in the Hebrew temple to receive the tithes of the harvest which supported the Levitical priesthood for their service. They were a dispensary to store goods. Hebrews 7 makes it clear that the great priest Melchizedek was the first to receive tithes from, and blessed, Abraham, the father of the semitic people groups and the covenant that led to the Levitical priesthood. Melchizedek received the tithe from Abraham before the tradition of tithing, as we know of it, ever started. This indicates the greater importance of the lineage of Melchizedek, the original covenant, over that of the levitical lineage and order.

It is very important to restate that the tradition of tithing and keeping a storehouse had, yet, no mention at the time of Melchizedek when the first tithe is mentioned in Genesis 14:19-20. In addition, since Malachi 3 is clearly a prophetic book (quantum in its purpose and language) and since the text is clear that tithes are to be brought so food can be found in “My house” (aka the house of “God”), it becomes clear that this passage is about The Heavenly Storehouse and one's participation with The Sacred. This is confirmed by an ancient-word search in the biblical context for “storehouse” and you find there is a clear, contextual difference between the historical mention thereof and the poetic-prophetic mention thereof. With that, ”The Lord will open for you His good storehouse, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hand; and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.” - Deuteronomy 28:12, makes it clear that the Lord’s storehouse gives blessing and lending power, indicating influence and finance.

“Storehouse”, meaning a depository, armory, cellar, treasure-store, treasury, storehouse for gold, silver, costly utensils; supply of food, drink, etc. A treasure-chamber, from the verb to store up, lay up in store, make treasure, is another name for God’s house, or temple, which we know are metaphorical. The storehouse is the body mentioned in 1 Corinthians 6:19 (see below), indicating its non-material nature and character.

Malachi 3:10 gives us another, of so many, perspectives on how to enter The Secret Place, The Sacred Closet, or Kingdom of God within (See Luke 17:20,21 below), and what to bring. Matthew 6:6  (see below) echoes this reality. The Greek word for “closet”  (G5009) means a dispenser or distributor; a dispensary or magazine, i.e. a chamber on the ground-floor or interior of an Oriental house (generally used for storage or privacy, a spot for retirement):—secret chamber, closet, storehouse.  1. a storechamber, storeroom: Luke 12:24, Deuteronomy 28:8; Proverbs 3:10; a chamber, especially 'an inner chamber'; a secret room: Matthew 6:6; Matthew 24:26; Luke 12:3.  The Storehouse is synonymous with The Great House as mentioned in John 8 & Proverbs 9 (see below), which I translated there as The Home of Peace, The Cabin of Tranquility, and The Sacred Place/Sacred Space (see Psalm 91 below). The Storehouse could also be called The Hall of Wisdom; The Storehouse of all the knowledge and good fortune (“blessing”) of The Uni-verse. The Storehouse holds the power (vortex) to transform or alchemize darkness into light (Genesis 1)- the quintessential character of The Great I AM. The House of Wisdom in which all the secrets of the uni-verse are stored, especially the principles to be being the greatest version of yourself in the human experience.

In the context of the book of Malachi the people of Israel[18] (Yasaral (Yisrael; Israel- princes and princesses, children of The Great One; those who are willing to contend with The Great I AM for True Identity) are being reprimanded for their lack of Love (1:2), respect (1:6), inadequate offerings (1:7-8), honor, praise, respect (1:11, 2:2,5), truthfulness (2:6-7), and adherence to the principles of matrimony (2:11,14-16). The virtues desired are sacred characteristics that are the backbone of the 10 Commandments.

I translated “tithe” as “The Tenth- The Ten into One”, as mentioned in the footnotes (H6240). Etymologists mostly agreed that the word is formed from the idea of the conjunction of the ten fingers. This is another replication of The Message that The One Great Command (out of the 10) is to “Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” (See Deuteronomy 6:4,5; Matthew 22:36-40 below). The 10 are summed up in The One: LOVE, for God is Love (See 1 John 4, below). Now we can see, “bring all your Love into The Storehouse”. Love is the endeavor and the culmination! Discovering True Love and the integrity thereof is the effort and The Great Conclusion! (See James 2, below) This should not be surprising! This is The Whole & Complete Teaching of the ancient semitic prophecy.

So, what can be brought into the internal storehouse besides your thoughts, your attention, your awareness, your respect, reverence, and adoration? What is dear to you, held close to your “heart” by your constant attention on it, indicating your passion to guard, store it away for safe-keeping, as if your life depended on it? This is reminiscent of 1 Peter 5:6-8 (see below)- that we can drop our burden for the Infinite Wisdom to sort it if we will let go.

The poetic-prophetic power of this encouragement to “bring the tithe into the storehouse”, is powerful in its duality. When we imagine a storehouse we might think of a place to store a 1/10th of the goods for safe-keeping, in case there isn’t enough, or in case of emergency. On the other hand, we, more or less, reluctantly bring goods to the storehouse with concern that the other 90 percent may not be enough. So, the “tithe” is certainly a symbol or token of Faith, Hope, and Love. If we will surrender our concern, release whatever worry or blessing that may be precious to us, our own “ring of power” (Lord of The Rings, reference), by fully embodying Love, we will reap a harvest that will far exceed what we had to sow (release, or let go of). This may feel like a sacrifice and this is why “sacrifice” has always been necessary. The physical is the foreshadowing of the spiritual. I find it very encouraging that it ONLY takes 1/10th (10%) to step into this good fortune that is limitless.

More On “Tithe”

The initial idea the word conjures in our western-christian based society is that tithing is a type of offering; a sacrifice of sorts. If Love is what we are to bring into The Storehouse, how is that a sacrifice? The sacrifice is in the fact that True Love, aligned with the greatest of the 10 commandments, requires that you sacrifice, drop, let go of, release all other versions or lesser notions, especially fear, hate, and all negativity and dishonesty. All of such things are to be transformed in The Storehouse, The Hall of Wisdom; meaning you will be changed, upgraded to a greater expression of conscious awareness.

The word “tithe” is said to mean 10%. By definition it means the tenth part, or any number of the teens (10-19). As mentioned above, etymologists mostly agree that the word is formed from the idea of the conjunction of the ten fingers and its roots mean “to accumulate”, “to grow”, or “make rich”. The word is saying bring the tenth part of whatever you have accumulated, not simply in material or monetary possession, but in spiritual or ethereal possession. How can you accurately calculate the tenth part of your physical and spiritual possession and blessings? The sentiment is, “bring the best you can in congruence with what you are now aware of.”

Monetary possession is the least of our concern in discussing the “tithe” because we know the original, historical, concept of the tithe had nothing to do with man-made monetary systems and everything to do with spoils, grains, and harvest. Furthermore, we have established that this Storehouse is not some structure in the 3-dimensional world. This rules out any physical world application and urges us to see the spiritual meaning. I am not saying bringing 10% of monetary value has no effect in The Storehouse but it may NOT if the heart is not giving from the right place of faith, hope, and love, that the good-blessings-fortune will remain in circulation.

10 is the number of completion or perfection. Bring the tithe is to “bring The whole, complete, and perfect Self”. There is Only one Whole Self to bring. That Self is One with and as Love? How do we bring That Wholeness? How do we access That? We must perceive Unity in Diversity. Unity in Diversity is a way of translating the original word for English term “God”- The One (Deuteronomy 6:4,5). What are you being asked to do? Awaken to the Truth behind The 10 commandments and all spiritual teaching: Love- The Great I AM. The Great I AM Is The Whole, Complete, Perfect Self, which you are the image (mental reflection) of as an individual form of Conscious Awareness. You are being asked to intentionally bring that awareness and reflection  into The Storehouse. Start with the level of awareness you have and it will be increased, day after day, week after week, month after month.

To go further, by way of metaphor, we often allow the 10% of our problems or concerns to be inflated to the status of 90% and the 90%, which is going well enough, to be reduced to the status of 10%. In this sense the “tithe” is another metaphorical invitation to sacrifice what, perhaps in the moment, seems to be important or demanding our attention, in the recognition that There Is Only One True Greatness to which all things should be laid down (given, sacrificed, let go of) because all things arise from There anyway. This is a path of awakening to Love- The One True Self; The Great I AM. This is akin to “You shall have no other gods before me.” (See Exodus 20 below).

The conscious mind, held by the prefrontal cortex of the brain, contains our wishes, desires, aspirations, and makes up 10% of the brain. The other 90% of the brain makes up the subconscious mind which contains our habits arising from default conditioning and programming.

Continuing on, we know that 10% of Cerebral Spinal Fluid, which circulates through the ventricles of the brain, and is the fluid in which a human fetus is formed, flows down to the central canal of the spinal cord, extending all the way to the bottom of the spine, and is eventually released into the subarachnoid space. That 10% has to descend through the energy centers of the body by which we experience the whole of human feeling and emotion; conscious awareness; I am-ness. 90% of CSF enters the subarachnoid space, at the bottom of the brain, which surrounds the brain and spinal cord[19]. So, we can see, it is the 1/10th that encapsulates so much of our experience and we are meant to bring that experience, data, or information into The Storehouse where it can be absorbed and transformed for the experience of en-lighten-ment for…. I AM (is) The Light of The World (See John 8:12 below).

The request to bring the tithe, firstfruit, or any “offering” is a metaphor of voluntary sacrifice and/or “death” (Psalm 51:17). It encourages you to bring what you have access to and what holds your attention. Let it go. Do not be afraid to surrender it as you continue to realize it is but a shadow of the great riches, abundant wealth, amazing prosperity, and fortune of your heavenly birthright, which is REAL in The True Dimension, aka “heaven”, and can flow (manifest) in this physical reality of 3D. If you don’t reach this understanding and mindset, you will be settling for much less even if you are rich by the world’s standards.

“Bring the finite into the infinite; the limited into the unlimited. Bring your (little) individual experience into The One Experience. Enter into this partnership with The One & Only. Bring the 3-D into 5-D.” - paraphrase retranslation of Malachi 3:10a

It is this material existence that makes up 1/10th of The Experience. The logical side, or left hemisphere (intellect/logic/ego) of the brain is that 1/10th. The other 9/10ths is the right hemisphere (spiritual/creative/true self) as the bulk of What Exists, what we are meant to tap into and utilize in this human experience. We are taught to live at only 10% of our capacity and assume the 10th is the 90th. We have been given the internal hardware and software to do this! Bring the 1/10th, your egotistical logic and worry, into the storehouse!!

The Storehouse is vast! The Storehouse is infinite! It swallows thoughts. It reduces concerns, pressures, and stressors to manageable notions that become next to nothing and redistributes those “possessions” in a healthy and just way to the “priests” (See Malachi, The Messenger, & The Priests”, below on page 11), whereas you, your Ego, wants to hang on to them. The Storehouse takes your virtue and positive experiences and multiplies them beyond what you can imagine (Isaiah 64:4). The Storehouse takes your vice and negative experiences and transforms them into virtue, changing you into the next best version of your-Self. There is nothing you have access to in this 3-D experience that is greater than or can outweigh the wealth you have access to in “heaven”- the realm of infinity. In addition, the idea is, what you bring in earnest, know that more and better is prepared for you. Prepare for what fortune and blessings begin to flow to you.

So, we see beyond material possessions, the tithe is your thought-possession(s) which, in your Ego, are deemed important, precious, and sacred but, all the while, keep you separated from your True Identity, purpose, true satisfaction and true fulfillment (Matthew 6:24; see Below). The Storehouse, on the other hand, another allegory for The Kingdom, The Secret Place, The Closet of Prayer, The Temple, Is What Is Sacred, Powerful, Life-giving, Empowering, Abundant, Truly Precious and Prosperous.

“Bring all the things you are thinking about, wondering about, worried about, excited about into The Sacred Storage….”- another paraphrase of Malachi 3:10a

Finally, “bring the tithes into the storehouse” is another way, perspective, angle, and poetic way of saying, “seek the kingdom of God first, and all these things will be added to you” (See Matthew 6:31-34 below). Bring all the elements of your 3-dimensional experience Inside to The Sacred Place within. Release it all to The Transformative Power of The Great I AM. Bring all the elements of your ego-self to the True Self. Exchange everything or What Is Best (See Matthew 13:44 below).

Notes

“Crowning” means the triumphant culmination of an effort or endeavor. It should also make sense that a crowning, a crown, is also related to the head. This triumphant culmination is symbolically, and otherwise, concluded at the head. This leads us to ask, What is this endeavor we should be aiming for and what is its culmination? What is the effort and what is the great conclusion thereof?

“Fresh food, sustenance, and resources” are the allusions found in I AM-affirmations like, “I AM the bread of life (John 6:45; see below) and the table of food She prepares for her guests (Proverbs 9; see below). This “food” is metaphorical for that which feeds the soul or the sense of Self, which is why, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God’” (Matthew 4:4). So we see, “Food in my house,” as typically translated in this text of Malachi 3, refers to the investing of transformational sustenance. There is no waste in The Storehouse. Anything you imagine to bring for the sake of respect, and letting go, and learning, and transformation is welcome. When you repeatedly bring The Tenth into The Depository, the resources are stored up. There is a sense of investment in this teaching. What you bring is multiplied.

“Lattices” are to portray as if one is peering in, as if one is allowed to take a peak, or to see into, like lurking or waiting expectantly. This is the same motif-motive that is given in Matthew 6:6-8 (see below) for intention, purposeful thought, and laying a snare for the thing desired with devotion and patience. This is an allusion to the type of mindset one is to have when engaging with or relating to “God”, The Great I AM; with great expectation to discover Something Great.

So where is this Depository? This Sacred House-Temple-Fortress of wealth, prosperity, security, sustenance, and resources? It is The Same Timeless Place the ancient Hebraic scriptures discuss over and over again in various names. So, once again, we are being told of something that is spiritual, not physical. Any physical act we may perform pales in comparison to the results of what the spiritual experience offers. The Depository Is The Innermost Sanctum of The Soul-Self. The “complete and perfect crowning of The Tenth” is something that happens within.

Thoughts on Malachi, The Messenger, & The Priests

Malachi means “my messenger” (H4401). Its root is Malach (H4397), meaning “messenger”.

Who are the priests spoken of in the book of Malachi? According to Chapter 1:1-6, the priests are the people of Israel (as I defined them above). This is a reference to the “nation of priests” (Isaiah 61:6; Exodus 19:6; 1 Peter 2:9; Revelation 1:6). This is a prophetic-poetic mention of the priesthood that is beyond the tribe of Levites and the principle agreement and ordination of duty and wisdom are the same (Malachi 2:5-8). What do these “priests” do? They serve the congregation- that is the varying parts or voices within a community but first those within themselves. This they can only do when they gain the proper resources. Who are these servants, allegorically? They are you and I as “organs” or “energy centers” of the “body”- the congregation, church, assembly, or family of those who wrestle with God. And, in another dimension, of personal application, they represent the inner-wisdom of your own organs and energy centers.

Notes:

The first mentions of the “tithe” make clear that tithing is one’s response to what God has already given. The cyclical nature of circulation becomes evident. One must first have the awareness and then acknowledge what they have received as the (a) gift from The Source and have the gratitude and faith to return a tenth (10%) of it to The Source. It is wise to tithe both outwardly and inwardly. The Tenth might be of spiritual substance or monetary, or both. The spiritual substance is valued according to your relationship with The Great I AM. If that issue, vision, mental projection, emotionality feels important don’t hesitate to take it to The Storehouse. Surrender it with thanks.
