On Tuesday the 23rd March writer Mary-Anne Scott came to school to tell us all about writing. She gave us lots of good tips about writing and things to help us when we write.
I really like all the action she puts in her books and the way it's like “everything’s just normal ,” and then Boom, something really exciting happens.
Right now I'm reading her book ‘Sticking with Pigs’ and I can't put it down. One thing Mary-anne told us was that,
“If you want to be a good writer you have to read, read, read. You have to be a good reader if you want to be a good writer.”
Mary-Ann signed all her books that we had at our school library and she even signed my book.
I really enjoyed Mary Anne Scott coming.
My favourite part in Sticking with Pigs is when they're out pig hunting and they stick a big boar and wolf (the main boy in the story) takes the tusks home to his sick brother who couldn't come.
