- Kids had power dollars to spend
- A lot of excitement from students
- Women’s History Month Celebration
- Videos and book resources shared with staff to use in classroom
- Ketanji is book of the Month shared with a Women’s History focus
- Mrs. Joshua & Mrs. Davi: share Women’s History focus in classroom.
- Launch of iReady Sprints (district effort)
- Repetitive activity on Tuesday for students to build skills in reading.
- Afterschool opportunities going on (reported by Mrs. Heskial, A.P.)
- CASA Visual Arts program overview
- Dancewave: 2 residencies launched
- 2nd graders will do tap
- 4th graders do hip hop
- Project SHIFT begins next Friday (27th)
- Townsend High School students lead STEM based activities
- Marquis Studios in ongoing
- So far classes and students enjoy and program is successful
- Will increase frequency per week to bring culminating project sooner and will be more meaningful with experiences spaced closer together rather than a week apart.
- Hip Hop Harmony (SEL) launches 3/26
- For students in temporary housing
- Working with students during recess
- Supports students during trauma
- Will incentivize cafeteria behaviors and improve climate
- Will be rewarded by class, tied to P.O.W.E.R.
- Student of the Month Award
- Students will be displayed on a bulletin board
- Civics for All students learned budgeting and steps involved in planning a budget.
- Students wanted air conditioners in certain spaces and researched cost
- Cost and budget required revision and so students researched and surveyed further
- Students learn budgeting, communication, research, presentation among other skills
- 3rd graders will engage in 10 weeks recorder and percussions lessons.
- Recess Stations for fifth graders will begin after break, led by Mr. Degia.
- Parent Feedback around 100 Days of School celebration: Could parents be invited or included in some way going forward in future years?
