What went well?
The virtual classroom was brilliant and a lot more engaging than tasks alone. Seeing his teacher and classmates was really valuable!
Online live lessons are superb thank you!
When the teacher takes online tutorials running the whole school day from home which I know may not be doable for all teachers but It was so helpful for the kids to feel like it was a normal school day and they still felt connected to their classmates and were able to ask him questions and feel supported through their learning.
Mr Yates was fantastic with online learning and taking the class online while he was also isolating. He helped the kids learn just as he would if he were in class with them. His efforts to educate the kids on a different platform were incredible and much appreciated for busy working parents who aren't able to sit all day and help children with work.
Plenty of work available this time around
Giving more work
Excellent work
The live online class is fantastic. If my child had to complete that volume of work without the teacher classroom environment it would take twice as long/ probably would not be completed. It is so much more engaging to be in an online class. Miss Allcock is also a far better teacher than me!
More teacher contact via google meet was appreciated and enjoyed. It made isolation less isolating
Like the regular structure of homework. Also like to see what is being covered during the week. **** really enjoys showing me the videos that she’s watched during the class sessions.
Working hard to keep a sense of normalcy during tricky times.
The live lessons that Mrs Gibbon did were super. The girls also enjoyed the Oak Academy lessons, thank you. The feedback and support we've had from both Mrs Gibbon and Mrs Pearson has been wonderful.
Really impressed with the online lessons even though we only did it for one day. Having a timetable as well helped us plan the day. Thank you!
Online learning has been really helpful this time, and Jamie has enjoyed being able to see his class friends even though he isn’t in school
Teachers feedback and reply on Dojo if needed.
Good resources and google meet lessons are great.
Online English and Maths classes and communication between parent and teacher .
Communication between parent and teacher.
Google meet lessons are great, it’s lovely to see the teachers interacting with the children.
Work is marked quickly with lovely feedback which keeps the children motivated.
Videos, they are great if parents aren’t working.
Good learning resources and material. Keeps child engaged
I can see that each time a class is sent home for self isolation the quality of the remote learning is improving.
Good level of work (manageable), love the online lessons, huge help
Great Google Meet lessons. Really good and interactive.
Great positive attitude from Miss Alcock. Very good questioning to help ensure all the class are understanding and taking part...
Communication through Dojo has been good.
Videos are helpful when we are able to view them but there seem to be IT issues that occur every now and then. Feedback and reply to queries is quick and helpful.
Online lessons with Miss Allcock were great and made a real difference.
The live lessons are really good and a lot better than doing the work on our own.
The live lessons are valued so much. ***** is able to see his friends virtually whilst completing the task set. Home schooling certainly has improved since the first lockdown.
Communicating with the parents and also the children.
Individual support and response for class teacher is good. Google classroom is ok and now the various apps are displayed/grouped more accessibly. A more structured home timetable with scheduled googlemeet lessons was easier for my child to follow and for me (as f/t working parent) to support her more effectively.
Luckily we have not yet experienced a period of self-isolation with our child in this year group & so feedback relates to homework only. The teacher responds to questions asked & we are pleased that not too much homework the being set allowing time to be a child and to other fun learning activities at home like baking, craft and country walks.
Much improved from the previous 2 week isolation period. Thank you for taking on board some of our previous feedback. Interactive learning enabled our child to put questions to the teacher & for the teacher to teach and therefore much more teaching and learning took place this time. Interactive remote learning also enabled our child to see classmates and feel part of the school community. As a result we found our child to be happier in himself, when compared to the previous period of self-isolation. It makes a huge difference when work is set in advance so thank you for this also. The teacher was positive, patient, confident, approachable and encouraging. It can't be easy teaching remotely and so we greatly appreciate all of these qualities. We also appreciate the teacher's flexibility, as access to IT is an issue for us at home, the teacher being understanding and allowing us to submit work when we are able is also greatly appreciated.
I think the teacher in year 6 is great. So helpful and learning the new platform herself.
