Adding crosswalk stripes at Ortega St and 34th Ave in SF

Summary

Cars kept speeding dangerously down Ortega St at 34th Ave in the Sunset District in SF.  I saw a few accidents.  I emailed a bunch of city agencies about installing stop signs, crosswalks, or speed bumps to slow down traffic.  My first contact with SFMTA was in Sept 2017.

I finally started taking photos of the accidents and sending them to the agencies and our reps.  I began calling/emailing SFMTA again and Gordon Mar’s Office.  It took a lot of persistence but it paid off.

The crosswalk was finally installed in May 2019.  Gordon Mar’s Office referenced my effort in a June 2019 Newsletter (interestingly enough doesn’t cite me).  Some of the contact evidence is referenced below.
