Recycling initative: OneStepGreener NGO

OneStepGreener, NGO, presented at the MS assembly on Monday October 8th about the need for reducing and redirecting the waste Delhi generates. They educate and spread awareness to segregate, compost and recycle house waste (glass, metal, paper, plastic, cardboard and e-waste). They offer door-to-door pickup in Vasant Vihar, Shanti Niketan, Anand Niketan and West End and are looking to expand to other areas. The waste collected is weighed and paid for, ensuring that it is responsibly recycled and does not end up in a landfill. Another initiative is to plant 1,000,000 trees in Delhi. Any student/resident leaders who would like to volunteer to help with the initiative in their areas please sign up here or support by donating. For more information, please email or visit their website. You may also follow them on Facebook.

PRINCIPAL:

Thank you all for your commitment to students over the past 3 months. We’ve made it over a quarter of the school year! Actually, better than made it, we’ve really made progress, students are learning and happy, WOW was a success and the MS vibe is really positive. The first quarter is where routines and tone are set...the rest will be a breeze. Keep it tight for the last week, routines and focus are important for MS students.

WOW

A sincere and giant note of appreciation to all WOW chaperones. Our trip and camp leaders did a fantastic job in pulling off a huge logistical task. I saw students engaged in learning outside the classroom, challenging themselves and fostering new relationships. Thanks for keeping students safe and keeping it positive, it’s a long week!

Assistant Principal Search Process

We are beginning the search process for Melissa’s replacement. The position has been advertised in SEARCH, ISS and the AES website. We have started to receive some applications. It's important to have many voices in the room, if you are interested and have not yet communicated with me drop me an email before midday on Monday.

To ensure we have the best candidates we aim to complete the process by late November. However we may be flexible if it means getting the right person takes a little longer. Our process therefore seeks to be inclusive and timely.

The process moving forward:

We are aiming to have this process completed by the end of November.
