Kerri Walsh

Secondary Math Specialist

Academic Services

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year Clay County!  I am Kerri Walsh, one of your Math Curriculum Specialists.

I began my college education as an Environmental Engineering major. Less than a year into my studies, I realized that in my heart, I desired to be a teacher. That deep-seated desire arose from having 4 younger sisters with whom I enjoyed playing school during the summer time.

I have been in math education for 22 years. I spent 21 years in the classroom and this is my second year as a math specialist. I began my career at Wilkinson Junior High transferred to Ridgeview High School to work with the Academy of Television Production. In 2006, I took a break from the brick-and-mortar school to teach math for FLVS. Then, my last 5 years in the classroom were spent teaching at Orange Park High School. I genuinely LOVE math! I am a self-proclaimed math nerd. I love math so much that I have taught just about every math from 8th grade general math to Calculus.

I moved to Clay County from Gainesville (my hometown) after completing my Master’s degree at the University of Florida. I have been married for 5 years. My son is a senior this year at OPHS active in band and has recently earned his Eagle rank in Boy Scouts. My daughter has finished her AA and is looking to begin the Bachelor of Arts program in Early Childhood Education at FSCJ. I love gardening, running, hiking and being in the outdoors. If you run into me while out and about, don’t hesitate to stop me and say hello.

I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.
