Library Report

To Town Council

 1. Services to the Public: Knitting 1pm on Fridays. Saturday February 14 paper crafts will be 3-D Hearts. February 28 will be Paper Roll Animals, rescheduled from January. Friday February 20, 2026, Lisa Scott Lee will be at the library with a continuation of the Ho’oponopono healing practice that she introduced to us last year.

2. Collections: We will be doing inventory in February instead of May this year.

3.  Technology: Our E-rate consultant Gary Kendrick passed away last fall. His son took over the company and we have contracted with Kyle Kendrick from The Kendrick Group LLC. to handle our E-rate.

4.  General Administrative Business: The library has new siding! The project took exactly 1 week but isn’t completely finished. The back door section started letting water into the building every time it rained last fall. Last winter we installed a door sweep on the door to keep the water out. By last fall it was leaking under the entire unit instead of just the door. We have opted to have the unit removed and replaced by a single door with half glass. The contractor will frame the wall and install the door when the door comes in and will then finish the siding on the new wall. They will also be taking the office window that is broken to Valley Glass for repair. We are also waiting for the outside lighting for the building.

The library board will meet at the library Wednesday February 18, 2026 at 5pm for their monthly meeting.
