Monique M. Sanders is the CEO and Founder of Get Stemulated Foundation, Incorporated. Her organization aims to provide supplementary educational training and practical tools to strengthen the fundamental lessons in curriculum geared towards science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM); to further promote career awareness and technical preparedness upon graduation. Her partnerships with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Athens, Athens Community Career Academy, and Athens Technical College are just a few examples of her efforts to engage the community in technical skill development.

Ms. Sanders’ experience working with organizations such as the U.S. Coast Guards, Syngenta Crop Protection, and Johnson & Johnson Companies has been the foundation of her career development in agrochemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing, engineering, procurement, and project management.  Ms. Sanders is a senior technical safety engineer at Janssen Pharmaceutical and a certified functional safety engineer at Six Sigma Green Belt. She holds the following degrees: a Bachelor of Science in Biological Engineering from Louisiana State University and a Master of Business Administration and Project Management from Columbia Southern University.

Monique’s passion is to harness the value of her professional experiences in industry to leverage future capabilities for youth to develop skills that will generate more confidence in their ability to solve global problems through innovation. In addition to her extensive professional experience, Monique serves the Athens Clarke County community in several leadership capacities as a member of the ACC Planning Commission, Historic Athens Board of Directors, Family Connection-Communities in Schools of Athens Board of Directors and has chartered the only National Society of Black Engineer (NSBE) Jr. Chapters in Athens at Barnett Shoals Elementary School and JJ Harris Elementary School through her leadership as the Service to Youth Facet Chair in the Athens Chapter of the Links, Incorporated.
