  1. Will we have another planting day?  Amberle

  1. Earth Day at Boston School Forest
  2. Transplanting work day - 20 volunteers transplanted 1800 plants in 50+ flats
  3. Bylaws have been finalized
  4. MREA booth. Pete will work at the booth for the morning or afternoon.  We still need volunteers.  It would be ideal to have two people at the booth in the morning and two in the afternoon. Request volunteers through the newsletter and on Facebook.
  1. Chapter Events
  1. June 5: Educational short presentation and Q&A panel: Native Plants and Natural Landscapes, why and how. An introduction to Wild Ones, how to get started for beginners and why we know you can do it too. Led by the Wild Ones Central Wisconsin Board of Directors, short educational presentation and Q&A panel.
  1. We need to have a plan for the presentation.  Kate has added two Power Point presentations from the National Wild Ones office to the chapter Communications folder.
  2. It would be good to have a succinct, eye-catching title.
  3. Tentatively plan to meet at the Lincoln Center
  4. Ask Maria Mohr (Stevens Point Community Development technician) to send announcement to mailing list for Lawns Gone Native program
  1. July 3(?): Generation Native Plant Nursery Tour (Nichole Good) - Pete will connect with Nichole about details (date, food, board meeting before tour)
  2. August: Native Plant Garden Tour - Ask members for volunteers to host a yard/prairie tour - email to members, announcements in newsletter and on social media; hosts could show plantings they have made and/or discuss plans to convert to native - Jenna and Kate

  1. Portage County Garden Parade - July 13, 9 am - 4 pm.  Jill Ziehr is looking for someone to help with the 1-4 pm shift at the Wild Ones Pollinator display. Send email request to members - Amberle
  2. Protocol for for public requests for native plants/establishing a garden plan/planting - need to devote a leadership meeting to this topic
  3. If we have memberships to give away again this year, Nichole Good and Tracy Aronld are possible considerations. Complimentary memberships are intended for new members unless approved by the national office. John Eron (Portage/Wood County Weed Commissioner) is another candidate.
