About the Alumni Hall of Fame
Annually the Hall of Fame seeks to honor alumni and retired staff members who are noted for high levels of achievement in his/her field of endeavor and who make significant contributions to that field. These honored alumni and staff are people who exemplify the tradition of excellence fostered at Indio High School. This program of recognition will reinforce to the students of Indio High School the importance of a sound educational foundation.
Criteria for Consideration
In order to be considered for this prestigious award, the nominee must have graduated from IHS at least 10 years prior to nomination or retired from service at least 2 years prior to nomination. Additionally the nominee must demonstrate outstanding character and be regarded as a person whose leadership can inspire students in the pursuit of excellence.The nominee must represent one of the following criteria:

Hall of Fame Yearly Timeline
• Nominations are due by August 1 of the induction year.
• Nominations are sent to the review committee the first full week of August of the induction year.
• Review committee selects inductees no later than September 1 of the induction year.
• A minimum of one nominee and maximum of five nominees may be inducted each year.
Hall of Fame Review Committee
Hall of Fame Review committee members will always remain anonymous but make up a cross section of Indio High School alumni, retirees and community members and include a school administrator and a sitting faculty member. The committee will always be composed of a minimum of five members to a maximum of 7, with seats to be filled on an as-needed basis.
The selection committee will meet and review all nominations. The selection committee will choose between one and five candidates each year for induction to the Hall of Fame. Nominations will be kept on file and reconsidered for the next two years. After three years, a candidate must be re-nominated for consideration.
Hall of Fame Induction
Inductees will be introduced to the students and staff during a special ceremony at homecoming or another significant school celebration. At the induction ceremony, he/she will be presented with a distinctive award.
Athletic Hall of Fame plaques will be displayed in the Ray Adams Gymnasium Foyer. The Arts and Academia Plaques will be displayed in the Administration building.
A public reception and awards ceremony will be held prior to the annual homecoming football game. Each inductee receives a personalized Hall of Fame award, with permanent recognition of the members of each HOF class to be prominently displayed at the high school. The current year’s HOF members are also introduced during halftime at a home football game.
Inductees can be removed from the Hall of Fame in the future by the Hall of Fame Committee with a 2/3 majority vote of the entire board if there is a violation of moral and/or ethical standards.
