Nokomis Regional Middle School                                       November 4, 2022

From the Principal’s desk…

Happy November!  The weather seems a bit confused, but I don’t think you’d find many people complaining!  We have a busy month ahead with winter sports tryouts, show chorus practices, moving toward the end of the trimester, parent/teacher conferences, and of course Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving break.  Please continue to stay in touch with school and remember to get on the fall conference schedule for your child’s grade level!  The 1st Trimester ends on December 2nd!

“November is the month to remind us of the many positive things in our life.”

A reminder….students trying out for a winter sport MUST have a current physical and permission slip on file prior to tryouts.

Hat Days and Food Drive

There will be hat days on 11/10, 11/18, 11/22!

The cost to wear a hat will be either 50 cents or a non-perishable food item. To go along with this, we are having a grade level competition for the month of November! The grade level that donates the most money and brings in the most food will win a prize! There will be boxes set up in the lobby from 11/7-11/22, please make sure to donate!

Parent Corner:  It’s (almost) Fall Conference Time!

Parent/teacher/student conferences will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 15th and Wednesday, Nov. 16th for NRMS families.  Each grade level will be reaching out to families with their formats and schedules within the next week or so.  Please be on the lookout for that information and contact your child’s homeroom teacher if you don’t get it!

Grateful Peoples-Focus on Gratitude

We have started the month focusing on gratitude.  The students will be discussing and journaling the people and things they are grateful for as we move through the month.  We are planning for this to be a theme for the rest of the year and something that will become part of our school community and culture.  The Grateful Peoples movement was an inspiration for us; if you get a chance go check them out!
