3% discount applied to tuition made in one payment by July 20, 2020. 1.5% discount applied to tuition made in two payments by July 20, 2020 and November 20, 2020. Discounts are applicable only on tuition.
FACTS Tuition Management is our online payment program. Transactions incurred at the school, including Tuition and Incidental charges (pizza day, event tickets, etc.), will be paid through FACTS. Once accepted, a FACTS account will be created through Online Enrollment. You will have the option for automatic withdrawal payments from a bank account (no fee) or charges to your credit card (2.85% fee). Families can easily view and manage their tuition payments and incidental charges at any time through FACTS SIS.
An automatic payment method is required to remain on file, though other payment arrangements can be made before the payment due date in order to avoid the payment method on file from being billed automatically. Please contact our Business Manager at firstname.lastname@example.org if alternate payment arrangements are needed. If the alternate payments are not made by the payment due date, the automatic payment method on file will be billed.
Through FACTS annual tuition is payable in monthly installments, depending on the schedule you have selected. Options include 10 months for the Academic Year and 12 months for the Full Year (includes Summer Camp). Tuition discounts are available for paying full tuition in one or two payments. For all payment options the first payment is due July 20.
During the Online Enrollment process you will have the option to pay all fees with your first tuition payment or blend them into monthly payments if selected (this option is not available for one and two payments discounts).
†This option is only available for Toddler through Lower Elementary students. Upper Elementary students may only choose Academic Year.
All enrollment fees may be paid upfront or amortized with tuition payments.
All withdrawals must be submitted to the Director of Admissions in writing. Any early withdrawal will result in the forfeiture of the entire $650 commitment fee. If you withdraw your child:
The school budget at the Montessori Community School is based upon our planned enrollment for the next academic year. Our school relies upon tuition to fund our programs, compensate teachers and staff, and to pay fixed costs throughout the year.
Every year, a few students withdraw for a variety of reasons, including, but not limited to, personal reasons, injury or sickness, death of a parent or family member, financial issues, emotional difficulties, and family relocation. Any of these issues are not only difficult for the families emotionally, but they also present financial issues for both the parents and our school.
Once a family commits to, and signs the 2020-2021 Continuing Enrollment form with the Montessori Community School, they are acknowledging a financial commitment and a legally binding agreement. The Tuition Assurance Program is designed to help families financially if the need arises while at the same time ensuring that school’s resources remain adequately funded. By electing to enroll in this optional program, a family can reduce their financial risk and obligations to our school.
If a family elects for their student(s) to participate in the Tuition Assurance Program, and the student subsequently withdraws, the withdrawing family’s/student’s obligation to the school will be limited to and prorated to the actual number of days attended, plus all fees associated with the student’s program level. Of the $650 commitment fee collected, $400 will remain applied to tuition and will not be forfeited. 30 days’ written notice is required for all withdrawals covered under this program. Should 30 days’ notice not be given, the family/student will be obligated to pay for any shortfall in notice, up to 30 days.
To enroll your student(s) in the Tuition Assurance Program, you will have the opportunity to sign-up at the end of the Continuing Enrollment form. If chosen, the program fee will be added to each student’s tuition statement. Enrollment in this program needs to be completed when submitting the Continuing Enrollment forms and cannot be added after submission.
The fee for the 2020-2021 Tuition Assurance Program is 3.5% of the student’s tuition and must be paid in full by July 20.
The Montessori Community School has a tuition assistance fund available for families who may not be able to pay the full tuition amount due to their financial circumstances. Current MCS students are given priority for tuition assistance. Applications must be submitted by March 31. Depending on the level of need exhibited by existing students, tuition assistance may be available to new families; however, to ensure adequate funding for our existing students, this amount will likely not exceed 20%.
All inquiries, applications, and supporting documentation submitted regarding tuition assistance are treated confidentially.
MCS utilizes the FACTS Grant and Aid Program to process our tuition assistance applications. To apply for tuition assistance, go to online.factsmgt.com/aid and follow the instructions for completing the application. You will need to create a new account and there is a $35 fee to apply. There are several items of supporting documentation that are required to be submitted, so we encourage you to read over the application closely. Applications for tuition assistance must be submitted each year assistance is being requested.
The FACTS Grant and Aid Program provides a recommendation of the potential need based on the documentation provided, however, the awards are ultimately decided by our Financial Aid Committee.
MCS believes that the primary responsibility for educational expenses lies with the child’s parents/guardians. Therefore, all parents/guardians must submit financial information to establish eligibility for financial aid. Regardless of marital or custodial status, parents/guardians must follow all the financial aid application steps.
The Montessori classroom is prepared to accommodate your child and his/her space is reserved. We cannot credit days or money for missed days due to vacations or illnesses.
If your child is not already enrolled in the Morning Care and/or Afternoon Care Program, and you have an emergency arise where an early drop-off or late pick-up is required, you may sign your student up for a set fee. This option is dependent on a space being available.
If students are not picked up at their usual pick-up time they will be brought to the office and a late pick-up fee will be charged.
Up-to-date documentation of a child’s immunization status must be on file for each child by the child's first day of attendance at the school. A child will not be permitted to start school until we receive the appropriate documentation.
A child attending our Toddler and Early Childhood programs is required to be immunized appropriately for age. This means a child has received all of the doses of each vaccine appropriate for the child's age according to current immunization schedules. Proof of immunity to disease(s) can be accepted in place of vaccination only if a document from a healthcare provider stating the student previously contracted the disease is presented to the school.
We accept only medical exemptions for Toddler and 1st thru 2nd level Early Childhood aged students. Documentation of an exemption must be provided to the school upon enrollment.
An up-to-date immunization record or an exemption form must be on file for each K-6th grade student by the child's first day of attendance at the school. Proof of immunity to disease(s) can be accepted in place of vaccination only if a document from a healthcare provider stating the student previously contracted the disease is presented to the school.
A K-6th grade student is exempt from the requirement to receive a vaccine if the student qualifies for a medical, religious or personal exemption. Documentation of an exemption must be provided to the school upon enrollment. Your child will not be permitted to attend school until we receive the appropriate documentation.
A student qualifies for a medical exemption from a vaccination if the student's legally responsible individual provides to the school:
A local health department representative must witness and sign the Religious and Personal Exemption Forms. To receive a vaccination exemption form, the legally responsible individual who claims an exemption for the student must complete the online immunization education module from the Utah Department of Health. If the legally responsible individual who claims an exemption for the student declines to take the online education module, he/she can obtain a vaccination exemption form from a local health department and receive an in-person consultation.
Any child who is suspected of having a communicable disease is taken to the office immediately and must be kept at home until they are no longer contagious. The School Director or office staff will discharge the child to the care of his/her parent/guardians or to the person who has been designated by the parent/guardian to pick up the child.
When a child is suspected of having chickenpox, German measles, infectious hepatitis, measles, mumps, poliomyelitis, scarlet fever, whooping cough, diphtheria, meningitis or another reportable communicable disease, the local public health officer will be notified. Contact your physician regarding symptoms of these communicable diseases. A child may be re-admitted without a statement from a physician after having had a communicable disease only if the child has been absent for a period of time equal to the longest usual incubation period of the disease as specified by the Utah Department of Health.
