Preston Hot Springs Town-County Library
1. Services to the Public: Knit Wit knitting project this month will be a hat. Sign up by Thursday evening if you will be needing knitting help on Friday. Knit Wit starts at 1pm on Fridays and will continue to do timed writing and readings. Book discussion group fires up with Let’s Talk About Race by Nancy Dome March 7, 2024 3pm at the library. Paper crafts will be doing paper beads on Saturdays from 1pm to 4pm. Michael Gedde will be at the library Friday March 15, 2024 at 1pm to talk about insecticides and safe organic alternatives.
2. Collections: The book sale will continue until the end of March.
3. Technology: The library prints tax forms(not instructions), and completed taxes for your records for free.
The Friends of the Hot Springs Library will hold their annual Honoring Tea April 8,2024 at the library. Honoree this year will be the late Thelma Niemeyer. We will also be observing the solar eclipse that day. We will only see a piece in our area. The Tea will be from 10am-2pm. A patron cussed out staff in front of a library board member. The matter was resolved between the patron and the staff member. Reports of the incident were filed with the Hot Springs Police department. The library board called a special meeting which was attended by the Hot Springs Chief of Police and all library staff. Due to the matter being resolved between the patron and the staff member and the Chief of Polices report on the patron accused, the matter has been settled.
The Library Board of Trustees will meet Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 5 PM.
