 BOARD OF EDUCATION

Please take notice that a Special Meeting of the Board of Education of said School District will be held on the 9th day of June 2021 at 1:00 p.m. 

Recent amendments to Michigan’s Open Meetings Act (OMA) allowed public bodies, including school boards, to hold wholly electronic meetings for any reason through March 30, 2021. Now public bodies may only conduct electronic meetings for the limited reasons expressly authorized by the OMA.

Additionally, on March 31, 2021 the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS)

issued an order amending its March 19, 2021 Gatherings and Face Mask Order to state that public

meetings under the OMA are not subject to the general gathering limits in Sections 2(a) and 2(b) of

the March 19, 2021 Order. The amending order states that more than 25 people may gather together in

an indoor venue for a board meeting so long as the meeting is designed to encourage and maintain 6-

feet of social distancing between groups and face coverings are required. Overall attendance at any public meeting must not exceed 50% of the total occupancy limits established by the fire marshal. Attendees should avoid intermingling with people outside of their group and each group must remain 6 feet apart. All applicable masking and distancing requirements must be followed by everyone at all times.

Persons with disabilities that require special accommodations should contact the Superintendent of Schools’ Office to arrange for special accommodations.

Please take notice that a Meeting of the Board of Education of said School District will be held in the Eau Claire Middle/High School Media Center in said District, on the 19th day of October, 2020 at 7:00 p.m.   Under the Emergency Order issued by MDHHS, a school board may hold an in-person school board meeting as long as it is held in a location that complies with the attendance requirements of the order (in a location that doesn’t have fixed seating attendance must be limited to 20 people per 1,000 square feet of venue space). With these restrictions, our venue will only accommodate up to 30 people. MASB recommends not holding a traditional in-person public meeting if attendance is limited to less than 30 individuals. Therefore, the in-person meeting will be limited to the members of the Board of Education and District Administration.  The Public will be able to attend the meeting “virtually” using the link provided below.  Persons with disabilities that require special accommodations should contact the Superintendent of Schools’ Office to arrange for special accommodations.
