“The SALT Company” SPECIAL PARTS AUDITIONS
WQ Kindergarten & 1st Grade Spring Presentation - Sunday, May 17th, 2026
Is your child interested in being involved in a Special Part for the K/1st Spring Musical ‘The BIG Idea Group’?
Auditions are Wednesday, March 11th before WorshipQuest (5:30-6:15pm) in Room 122.

DRAMA
During the Audition, those interested in joining the Drama Cast will be given short lines from the Musical to prepare to perform in the audition. Kids should have read through the scene a few times. It is not expected that they memorize the script and will be able to use a paper copy to read from during the auditions. They should be comfortable reading any of the parts. (see back/page 2)
SINGING SOLOS
Each soloist will only be responsible for one short line they will rehearse. If your child would like to try out for one of the solo/ensemble parts, they will need to come prepared to sing the chorus of Love, “God is Good” or “Goodness of God”.
CHOREOGRAPHY TEAM
Those interested in joining the choreography team will walk through a short and simple choreographed dance as a group (this does not need to be practiced beforehand).
COMMITMENT
SCENE 1: INTRO
(KALLI, CADE, and NATE are in the clubhouse waiting for their friends to show up for the weekly S.A.L.T. Company meeting. There is an easel, some large pillows (or chairs) for kids to sit on, and a table with snacks on it. Maybe a bookshelf with books, small couch, anything to make it look cozy.)
KALLI: Hi, everybody! Looks like we're ready for this week's meeting!
CADE: You always have the best snacks, Kalli.
NATE: Hey, here comes Grace! And it looks like she brought a new member!
(GRACE and JULIA walk into the clubhouse.)
GRACE: Hi, everybody!
KALLI, NATE, CADE: (Hi. hello... etc.)
GRACE: Everyone, this is my friend, Julia. She just moved into the neighborhood. We met at church on Sunday!
JULIA: Hi! Wow, this place is so cool, but what exactly... is this place?
GRACE: It's the S.A.L.T. Company Clubhouse.
KALLI: The name SALT help us remember what the purpose of the club is all about. (points to the letters on the poster/easel)
NATE: We decided to name it that after we studied something in the Bible. In Matthew 5:11, Jesus said, "You are the salt of the earth."
JULIA: Oh, I've heard that verse before.
KALLI: Let’s take this one step at a time. (points to the easel again) S.A.L.T. stands for SEE, ASK, LOVE, and TELL! If we want to make the world a better place, the first thing we have to do is look
for ways to make a difference!
GRACE: We are on the look out to SEE opportunities to show people God's love and ASK people how we can help them.
KALLI: We then move into action to LOVE the people that God has put in our path. It could be a small act of kindness or even a smile to brighten someone’s day
CADE: The good news of the gospel isn't just something for us to know. It's something for us to share. And sometimes you've just gotta say it and TELL people.
NATE: Alright SALT Company - are we ready to go be SALT in the world?
ALL: yeah, let’s do it….
SONG: The Salt Company
