  • Pandemic effects gives rise to this subject
  • History
  • 15 events - 30 years
  • Same events last 20 years
  • We would not expect in 2050 to have the same schedule as today.
  • World has changed - market runs now by selling the experience, all our competitors became operational during the 30 years
  •  years window - their business had to come from somewhere - us and growing demographics.  Different cost models, even in the last decade.
  • TT and other races subsidize our lost leaders.
  • 2019 - lost $30K after adjustments, notwithstanding any change. $30K in 2020 - begs the questions
  • ORRC reserves are like a personal 401K plan - if personal 401K isn’t profitable, we personally changed the investments.  ORRC’s “investments” in our races should be treated the same.

  • How can we take advantage of our non profit in this new world’s culture and climate? - Steve
  • July discussion
  • Public trust is the currency of our nation’s nonprofit sector.
  • The public’s belief that nonprofits will “do the right thing” is one of the central reasons the nonprofit sector exists.
  • Communities rely on nonprofits to provide trusted sources of information and health services.
  • Communities feel more positive about nonprofits when they have a personal connection to an organization, like ORRC
  • Many local nonprofits have used their status as a rallying cry for support - many have increased giving during the pandemic.
  • How can ORRC use our status to our advantage to distinguish ourselves from the rest of the pack.
  • Asked the board to think about what was said and respond at the August meeting.
  • ORRC can provide expertise,

equipment support for organizations

looking to launch events.

     7:25 p.m.

  • July discussion
  • Give the board a heads up regarding one of many areas that RRCA is working on that will eventually be ramped out in the coming months for other clubs to use.
  • Three questions to be considered by board at September meeting
  • Where is ORRC on the spectrum?
  • Where should ORRC be on the spectrum?
  • How do we get from current to our goal?
  • How do we help our community

beyond running?

  • ● How do we become a better

community partner?
