Key Stage 2 - 6pm - 7.30pm.  Drop off at the door to the bottom end of the school.  Please help us to keep the pick up time to a minimum by taking home coats and bringing them back at the end.  This will really help as getting coats for 100+ excitable / tired children will take forever!

St Andrew’s Day Service

This will be on Thursday at 1.30pm where we will find out more about the patron Saint of Scotland.  Parents are welcome to come to the service although please be aware there is limited space.  Reception children will not join us on this occasion.

Non Uniform Day / Christmas Jumper Day - Friday 1st December

On  Friday 1st December we will be having a non-uniform or Christmas Jumper day in school and in return for this we are asking for tombola prizes.  The tombola will be for the children so we are looking for things like inexpensive toys or children’s books (new or “as new”, please), sweets, and chocolate. Please bring donations to the library at drop off. Thank you.

Waddesdon Manor Information

The children will need to wear school uniform on the day and will need to bring a packed lunch.  Please let the school office know by Monday the 4th December if you require a packed lunch to be made by the catering team.

Remember to wrap up warm that day as we will be walking around the grounds.

School Christmas Dinner

Our catering team will be laying on a traditional Christmas Lunch, with vegetarian option (and crackers!), on Wednesday 13th December for the whole school to enjoy.
We anticipate that all children will attend but please let the School Office know by
Monday 4th December if your child will be bringing a packed lunch instead.  We will of course give crackers to those who have packed lunch.

Christmas Carol Service

Each year we have a fantastic Carol Service in St Andrew’s Church.  This year it is on Monday the 11th of December starting 6 o’clock.  We ask that children attend with an adult and that you sit together in the pews.  We will call up the children to sing at different points in the service and there will be lots of traditional carols that we all sing together.

Do you have any spare balls of unused wool at home? Ideally Christmassy colours but any colour will do!  One class will be using this to make their decoration for the sale!

Reading volunteers

We are looking for parents who can commit to an afternoon per week to help as reading volunteers in Key Stage 2. Training will be provided for reading and safeguarding. Please let Sammy or Mrs Sánchez know if you can help.

Now the weather is getting cold, please ensure your child has a coat every day and make sure it is NAMED!

After School Club

Please note that on the last day of term, the 19th December, as school finishes at 1.30pm, ASC will run from then until 4.30pm and all children must be collected by this time.  A snack of fruit and a biscuit will be given during the afternoon.

Dress as a Famous Person

Next half term the whole-school will be working on historical enquiry skills through their class topics. To launch the theme throughout the school we would like to invite children to come to school dressed as a famous person from history on Monday 8th January.

In previous years we have been amazed at the creativity that has gone into this - however do please remember that often a simple prop or piece of clothing will do! Children should come to school with some clues prepared to help their classmates find out more about them and who they are.

You can help at home next term by encouraging your child to develop their historical enquiry skills by finding out more about the person and the period of history / events through which they lived using the internet or the local library.
