Other Spiritual Directors I recommend:

Christy Aydt (Hicks)

Phone: 573-418-7373

Email: christyhicks9@gmail.com

Christy is a married lay woman who has been ministering and companioning people for the last twenty years. She is open to all who are interested in exploring their own faith journey and sees every path as unique to the person. In 2010-2011, she spent a year in India and Nepal, and though her studies have been through the lens of Catholic-Christian faith and thought, she reverences the perspective and beauty that other faith traditions share. Eastern spirituality and culture has gifted her with a more expansive image of God. MA in Pastoral Ministry, University of Dayton; Certificate in Spiritual Direction, Aquinas Institute of Theology; Trained in the Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius of Loyola; some Shamanic training. Available to meet in person or via Zoom. The fee is on a sliding scale ($35-$75).

Since training as a spiritual director at the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley in 2001, Ann has worked with individuals from local churches (Catholic and Protestant), Jesuit Volunteers, Divinity students, new moms, clergy, retirees, and retreatants making the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius.

After receiving her Master of Divinity from the Jesuit School and Masters in Biblical Languages from the Graduate Theological Union, Ann worked as a hospital chaplain before moving into parish ministry and supervising field education students. Currently, she is the Associate Director of The Pastoral Center, a small pastoral publishing company based in Alameda, California. When she is not working, she can probably be found with her two school age children, bicycling, baking, coaching softball, reading, or growing and preserving food.
