SPECIAL CAMPS & CLINICS

We want to reach and serve kids and families of the South Bay Community, and one of the ways we can do that is through our special CAMP and CLINIC offerings.

As the schedule allows, we will host 1, 2 or 3 Day Clinics or Camps that focus on a particular aspect of soccer development. Some camps will focus more on fundamental skill development, while others will be very specific (like our goalkeeper clinic). Camps/Clinics are a fun and quick way to learn soccer, enjoy fellowship and special time with friends and coaches. Just like our longer, full season offerings, Camps/Clinics will focus on character development along with skill acquisition, and usually feature a special/fun component that allows kids to just be kids!

Equipment: even though camps/clinics are shorter than the full season, we ask that participants have the proper equipment to keep them safe: athletic clothes, cleats, shinguards, and soccer socks. If you are unable to purchase cleats for your athlete, please message support@ovcwaves.com to be connected with our gently-used cleats program.

FULL SEASON TEAM PLACEMENT/PRACTICE/GAME INFORMATION

When will I know what team my child is on and when their practice is held?

Our goal is to ensure you and your child know which team and when practice is held no later than one week prior to the first practice.  Once team information is available, we will first inform the coaches who will then contact the entire team to introduce themselves and communicate required information, expectations, WAVES values and pillars.  In the fall, practices will be from 4:30-5:30pm and 5:30pm-6:30pm once a week, M-Th.  In the spring, practices will be from 5:00-6:00pm and 6:00pm-7:00pm once a week, M-F.

Can my child be placed with a friend?

We will make every effort to accommodate special requests, but please understand that many of these requests may be untenable as we aim to design a competitive league.

Where are the practices and games?

Practices and games will be held at the Ocean View Sports Park located behind/North of Ocean View Church at 2460 Palm Ave.

When Is the Game Schedule Available?

The game schedule will be distributed no later than one week prior to the first game.

Does WAVES play other leagues?

Not currently. Typically, recreational level soccer does not play outside other leagues.  However, as a growing league in our area, we are open to this concept. If you know a club director that is interested in inter-league competition, please email WAVES.

Which uniform do I wear?

Home Uniform is Orange.  Away Uniform is Blue.

How do I get my player a uniform?

Uniforms are not included automatically with registration. If you did not order a uniform from the online store when you completed the registration process, please click here to find the uniform package and complete your order.

Where can I find a WAVES Practice Jersey?

These are high demand items, so we get the question!  You can pre-order through the registration process, or you can purchase on any given game day at the Merchandise tent.

DIVISIONS

How Are Divisions Divided (By Age Or Grade)?

Divisions will be divided by age for Fall’22/Spring’23 seasons.  Our core offering this Fall is for children born between 2017 and 2013, which will be comprised of our core 3 divisions (U6, U8, and U10).

My child doesn't fit the age requirement.  Why?

We are transitioning our Fall divisions to align with U.S. Soccer Birth Year (BY) standards that will help clarify eligible age groups and support a better player experience.

Can My Player Play In An Older (Or Younger) Division?

DISCOUNTS

Do You Have A Discount Program?

We have a limited ability to offer a discounted rate for those in need.  You can either contact the front office at 619.424.7870 or email the OVSP Director.
