Board Chair Report PMRC AGM 2025

On behalf of the board, I would like to thank you for coming to the 2025 PMRC Annual General Meeting. The 2024-2025 season has been one of significant growth, achievement, and resilience. We have faced  challenges, celebrated successes, and laid the groundwork for an even stronger future. I would like to take  this opportunity to thank all our athletes, coaches, board members, volunteers and sponsors who have  contributed to our continued success and the development of PMRC.

This season, we continued to build on our reputation for developing top-tier skiers. PMRC athletes have  shown remarkable progress, with many competing at regional and national events. Our training programs  have been building strong skiers for life for several years, and our coaching staff has worked diligently to  ensure that every athlete receives the personalized attention they need to succeed and develop a passion  for ski racing.

This season, we hosted one of the largest races over the past several years at Poley Mountain. Our race  was huge success, the racing committee has done an incredible job organizing the race. Thanks to all the  volunteers who participated again this year, this really shows the commitment of PMRC to ski racing in  Southern NB.

Our financial position remains strong, thanks to the generous contributions from sponsors, fundraising  efforts, and the dedication of our members. We are committed to reinvesting funds into athlete  development and supporting our coaching staff. Going forward, we aim to ensure that the financial health  of the club continues to support our long-term goals.

One of the strongest aspects of our program continues to be the spirit of volunteerism. Our volunteers  are the lifeblood of our organization and our behalf of the board members, I want to take this opportunity  to thanks all our members who have actively volunteered their time to help our club. This season, we saw  an increase in volunteer participation, and we are incredibly grateful for their dedication and enthusiasm.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dan Doherty for organizing Race Ready Days this year, which  helped us promote our club and attract more athletes to our Snow Stars program. I would also like to  thank Mathieu Bazin for leading our fundraising initiatives again this year and bringing new fundraiser  ideas to our members.

As we look forward to the 2025-2026 season, our focus will be on:

Growing Athlete Participation: Increasing our outreach to local communities to attract new  athletes to PMRC.

Communication: Continuing to improve communication within our club. This year the board has a new initiative to increase communication between the board, coaching staff, athletes and

PMRC members. We will have a board representative for each group who will work very closely  with the head coach, athletes and parents within their respective group.

Board Succession Planning: Bringing individuals with professional skills to help our club in  Strategic Planning, Membership Engagement, Financial Management, and Governance. These  are the pillars of our non-profit organization and continuing success of PMRC.

I would like to take this opportunity to thanks our volunteers, coaches, athletes, parents, and sponsors  for their commitment and support. It is with their dedication that we can continue advancing the sport of  ski racing in our region.

In particular, I want to thank Sarah Doherty and Renee Williams who went above and beyond this year to  ensure our programs’ success. Sarah has been instrumental at promoting our club on social media and  Renee has continued to offer ongoing support with member registrations and club communications at  PMRC. Even during difficult family times, you have always been there to support our club.

In closing, the 2024-2025 season has been one of progress, achievement, and inspiration. Together, we  have created a thriving environment for athletes of all levels to pursue their passion for ski racing. I am  excited for what the future holds as we continue to build on this strong foundation.

Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together in  the coming year.

Regards,

Alex Viens
