You wake up.
After a few minutes of rubbing your eyes and groaning, you lower yourself out of your hammock. It’s a day like any other, though Ly asked you to give Zavo another lesson today. That’ll only take an hour or two.
You wish you had some Gnomish tea. You tried some one time and it was refreshing. It woke you up from the hours of sleepiness that usually plagues your first hours of morning consciousness.
These glowing mushrooms will do fine though.
The first thing you want to finish up is pounding your latest spell into your spellbook. You started it last night, but you got tired of the process and went to sleep. It’s annoying, but necessary. This one is a new type of spell to you, “Basic Gravity Alteration.” First level. You’re excited to use it.
You pound the last somatic diagram into your spellbook in only about 10 minutes.
You crush the Signum and insert it into the grooves you just pounded into the metal with the pecten. Then you use the same chisel and pound the Signum into the metal grooves. They usually stick to the metal groove regardless, but this method is safer.
The pounded lines glow blue momentarily. Boom! You’re done.
Now what?
Sometime today you need to go and collect Zavo, but you have all day to do that. You could get a quick magic lesson from your teacher or go talk to Ly and Kotisumera. You could do something else entirely, though.
