 North Atlantic States Carpenters Training Fund holds in person Information Sessions on the first Monday of each month at 6 pm sharp.  Information sessions are currently in person only. See dates and locations here:

Electricians IBEW Local 99 JATC (Seekonk, Attleboro, and North Attleboro, MA and Rhode Island)

Applications continue to be available for pickup Monday thru Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm at 40 Western Industrial Drive,Cranston, RI  02921. Local 99 is still in-person at this time.  Painters DC 35 Construction Industry Painters, Wallcoverers, Glaziers, and Drywall Finishers Residential Painters Glassworkers Sign Painters and Sign Erectors

The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades DC 35 is accepting applications for the apprenticeship program. We will be opening for applications the 1st business day in January 2023 from 10 – 4 pm and continue to accept applications each day thereafter from 10 – 4 pm until we reach our quota. We will accept 25 applications per month for 10 months out of the year from January – October.

Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 4 (Central MA)

Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 4 accepts applications the first Tuesday of each month from 9 AM. to 3 PM in person only at 150 Hartwell St, West Boylston, MA 01583. There is a non-refundable $25 administrative fee to apply.  Local 4 only accepts bank checks or money orders.  Local 4 also administers a no-fail math assessment at that time.

 Pipefitters Local 537 (Eastern MA)

The 2023 Application Period will begin on January 3, 2023.  Applications will be accepted in person at the Training Center, Monday through Thursdays, from 8:00am to 2:00pm from January 3rd through January 26th. Applications are not accepted Friday-Sundays, and the center will be closed on January 16th in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Day.

Pre-Apprenticeship Recruiting Now

If you are interested in a career in construction but not sure what trade you would like to pursue, there are pre‐apprenticeship programs that can help you find the right path.

These programs help women gain skills for successful trade careers!

Building Pathways Boston will be recruiting for the next cycle in February of  2023.

To be eligible for our free pre-apprenticeship training program you must be:

  • at least 18 years old
  • a resident of Suffolk, Norfolk, or Middlesex counties
  • have a high school diploma or equivalency
  • unemployed or under-employed
  • authorized to work in the US
  • a licensed driver
  • drug free

Additionally, please be advised that all program participants will be required to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus.

BUILD IT! is a carpentry-specific pre-apprenticeship program devoted to bringing more women and people of color into the Carpenter’s Union. Build It! offers classes 2x/year on Tuesday & Thursday nights and Saturdays and is starting recruitment for our September Class, which will run from September 6 – December 8, 2022.  Build It is actively seeking women, and prioritizes applicants from Northeastern MA.

To be eligible for Build It! free pre-apprenticeship program you must be:

  • At least 18 years old
  • A Massachusetts resident
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalency
  • Unemployed or under-employed
  • Authorized to work in the US
  • A licensed driver
  • Able to pass a drug test
  • Eager to work in the construction industry
  • Able to get to three training locations:  Classes are held primarily in Lexington, MA, with some classes in Dorchester and Millbury.
