Call Meeting to Order (President)
Approval of Minutes (Secretary)
- Meeting minutes were approved from the PTA Board Meeting and PTA General Member Meeting in March 2022.
Report of School (Principal, Assistant Principals, Teacher Representatives)
- Mr. Schutte reported that the students are excited about the new playground. This week the school will be having its first assembly and will be all together again since the pandemic. The staff has been attending professional training and looking forward to the future. The school is looking for students that are interested in being apart of the garden club. The school board will be voting on the school calendar ending 2 days early.
- Ms.Carter sent an email for her report.
Introduction of Parent Representatives (No Room Parents were signed up to attend)
Reports of Officers (try to limit to 2-5 minutes of highlights; put the rest in writing for all to see)
- President - Recap on Playground Playdate, Teacher of the Year and TA of the Year banquets - PTA funds tickets participants, Teacher Grants, Transition Plans,
- Amy recapped the playground playdate. The event was well attended. The PTA welcomed many families back to the school for this event. It was a great success.
- PTA sponsored the Teacher of the Year and TA of the Year Banquets
- The second round of teacher grants has kicked off. The teacher grants are up to $75 per teacher or $00 per teacher if teachers team up.
- Transition Plans - Everyone who is currently in a role will need to write a transition role for the new person taking that position..
- Brett reported that there is $110,000 in the bank. Almost $1,000 was raised in spiritwear at the playground playdate.
- Erica reported that PTA communications will be sent out to the board following the meeting for their feedback before it is sent out to families.
- She is seeking feedback on ideas for the teacher lounge makeover.
- The PTA will be providing a gift for the teacher of the year. Topics will be covered in committee reports.
- Jordan reported that there is just over $1,000 raised from the merchant accounts year to date.
New Business
- The possible change in the date of the last day of school and the impact on 5th grade end of year activities:
- Before: Picnic/Ceremony were June 2/3 (Thur/Friday)
- New Last day of School = Thu June 2nd
- Recommended: Picnic/Ceremony move to May31st/June 1st (Tues/Wednesday)
- Before: Picnic/Ceremony were June 27/28 (Monday/Tuesday)
- New Last Day of School = Monday June 27th
- Recommended: Picnic/Ceremony move to June 23rd/24th (Thurs/Friday)
Unfinished Business
- No unfinished business discussed
Reports of Committees (try to limit to 2-5 minutes of highlights; put the rest in writing for all to see)
- Nominating Committee - Nominations to the executive board will be announced next week.
- Yearbook: May 1st is the deadline to add content for the yearbook. Yearbooks may be ordered through May 6. The yearbooks will be delivered by June 6.
- Spirit Nights: There was a great turn out for the spirit event at Brixx on March 16th. The next Spirit event is scheduled at Andia’s on April 18th. There will be a prize wheel, as well as a ice cream eating contest between Mr. Schutte and other school staff at 7PM.
- Staff Appreciation: Refer to Jen’s email for staff appreciation week plans. Jen sent out an email for volunteers to help out with that week. The teacher and TA of the year will receive their gifts on May 5th.
- School Beautification Committee: Spring Campus Cleanup scheduled for 4/23-4/24
- Wellness: In-person yoga will be scheduled for mid-May. The dates for field days will need to be decided for field days. Mr. Schutte will be providing the dates this week.
- Campus Improvements: Link to Campus Improvements Planning
- School Supplies: Order can be placed by May 31.
- 5th Grade Celebration:
-Save the Date flyer distributed. <updated date>
- Yard signs for sale soon.
- Ms Long(Music) to create a performance for the Ceremony.
- Ms Long(Art) to help with the rock garden project.
-5Th grade spirit rock getting a refresh. Survey being sent to 5th grade students to choose colors. -Picnic - TBD on if we can have a sign-up for parents to provide food(pizza etc)
-Tree planting (5th grade class gift to school) will be co-ordinated with the campus beautification project.
- Cultural Arts: Link to Cultural Arts Planning - Friday afternoon performance?
- Advocacy: Positivity Project, #SelfcareChallenge
- Room Parents: An email will go out through the room parents for volunteer opportunities for staff appreciation week.
- Spirit Wear: $1,000 was raised through spirit wear sales at playground playdate.
