I am learning to make a prediction based on the cover and blurb of Ghost by Jason Reynolds.

Look at the front cover.  Why do you think these pictures have been used ?

I think the pictures in the cover have been used because a boy may have been running from something he might have seen.

Think about the title.  What illustrations would you expect to see and why?

I would expect maybe a dark background because of what the book is called.

Read the blurb below for the book.

Running. That's all that Ghost (real name Castle Cranshaw) has ever known. But never for a track team. Nope, his game has always been ball. But when Ghost impulsively challenges an elite sprinter to a race -- and wins -- the Olympic medalist track coach sees he has something: crazy natural talent. Thing is, Ghost has something else: a lot of anger, and a past that he is trying to outrun. Can Ghost harness his raw talent for speed and meld with the team, or will his past finally catch up to him?

Now why do you think the author has used these illustrations?

I think he has used these illustrations because Ghost might have put on some new shoes or might have stolen them.

Research the author Jason Reynolds.   What can you find out about the author?
