This is the call for bids for the European Youth Ultimate Championships (EYUC) U17 in the mixed, open, and women's divisions.

All emails regarding questions shall be sent to office@ultimatefederation.eu

Tournament length:

5-7 days

Date:

Preferred date: Summer 2026, ideally in July/early August

Alternative dates: Please inform us which options would be available

Number of Teams:

The EYUC 2024 in Ghent had 22 teams:

  • 5 U17 Mixed
  • 9 U17 Open
  • 8 U17 Women

EUF expects a slightly higher attendance.

The bidders should be able to scale down the costs in case fewer teams will attend.

Number of Players:

In the previous events, the average number of players was around 18.

Venue:

5-8 WFDF-regular fields are required for the max. expected number and the whole period of the tournament. If fewer teams register, the number of needed fields should be reduced to sink the fixed costs

A WFDF-regular field measures 100m x 37m + 5m restraint lines around it. WFDF-conform field size (90m x 35m + 3m restrain lines) is tolerated but should not be the standard. Please provide the length of the single fields in your bid.

Please provide a plan in case of rain (e.g. additional fields available, turf fields, etc.)

Football goals must be removed or protected for the players' safety. Having all pitches on 1 site is an asset.

Having a grandstand for showcase games is an asset.

Please add a Google Maps link of the venue(s) in the bid and describe the grass quality.

More information about minimal requirements here: min EUF Tournaments _ General terms.docx

Accommodation:

It is expected that most teams will take care of the accommodation themselves.

Please indicate if you plan to offer central accommodation.

Breakfast must be provided if you are planning accommodation (e.g., camping near the fields).

Please add a Google Maps link to the accommodation and the distance to the venue(s) in the bid.

Food:

Warm dinners are highly recommended, at least during the showcase games' evenings.

Drinking water must be available within a pitch length.

Please indicate where and how you plan to provide meals and the indicative costs.

Reachability:

Indicate how the tournament location can be reached (distance to airports, public transportation system,…).

Social Events:

Please briefly describe the plan for the social events.

Media Visibility:

A stable internet connection with a minimum upload speed of 10 Mbs (better via Ethernet since 4G is unreliable) and an overhead camera position (grandstand, scaffold, etc.) are needed.

Please indicate if and how you plan to increase the tournament visibility locally and which budget you reserve for advertising the event.

Gifts/Trophies:

Medals will be ordered through EUF and are covered by the tournament budget.

Winner trophies must be covered by the tournament budget or by sponsors and will be ordered through EUF.

A tournament gift per player is unnecessary and should be considered only if covered by a sponsor.

Ceremonies

Please describe the locations and timetable for opening and closing ceremonies. Including the city and city locations is an asset

Medical services

An ambulance needs to be available at all times during the event. First Aid-Kit must be available at the fields.

Please describe your physiotherapy and medical plan.

Budget:

For the budget plan, please use the EUF template.

We want to make clear that people who work hard on these events should receive some reasonable payment, nevertheless, management costs should be kept to the minimum.

The EUF committee wants to ensure that all costs are clearly visible, that costs are reasonable, and that we help ensure that players don’t pay for things they might prefer not to have if given a choice.
