Week of March 29

This week students met in groups to continue working on their impact projects. They brainstormed ideas and navigated their next steps for these projects. Next week we have a number of experts coming to meet with groups for their projects. Students will meet with the expert that will support their individual project.

Xcel Take Action kits: Thank you to everyone who returned the home survey for the Xcel Take Action kits! We’re just excited for kids to see ways to save energy in their homes as well as at school!

Upcoming Reminders:

CMAS April 8-12:  CMAS is just around the corner. Please schedule appointments and vacations around these dates so students can be at school. Please make sure that students have a good night's sleep and breakfast before school. We will begin testing at 8:30 daily so please make sure students are on time. Once testing begins, late students will not be allowed to join the testing session.

4th graders will be taking ELA and Math this year. -We have talked about doing their personal best on these tests, but not stressing about it. We do reading, writing, and math everyday. This is just a way for students to show how they have grown in reading, writing, and math. We have been practicing with the CMAS program, so students feel comfortable with how to take the tests.

Important Note: For CMAS, students cannot have phones, watches, or electronic readers during the tests. For this week please have students leave these electronic items at home or we can lock them in a cabinet during testing. Please send physical books instead of E-readers.

Every student MUST have their own pair of working headphones for CMAS (and upcoming IReady testing). Please check with your student to make sure they have working headphones at school.
