New this year…

Date: March 2, 2024
Time: 5-7 pm  * please be on time *
Location: High School Gym

Keep in mind, these are NOT tryouts in order to make a team in our league.  These assessments are essentially skill evaluations to get a better feel for the talent level for each of the players so we can divide the teams up into two different skill levels due to the anticipated high numbers for this age group.  ALL "league age" 8-12 year olds will be placed on teams in our league!  However, if you feel that your child is ready to play off the T and move up to the next level of play and does not fall into this age group, they also may come to the skills evaluation.

Remember, your child will need to be
registered for this upcoming season in order to participate.  Please be on the lookout for registration forms that will be coming soon!  It will be required for all "league age" 8-12 year olds to attend the skills evaluation or for those wanting to move up.

What to bring and What to expect:

What To Bring: Bring your glove, helmet, bat and sneakers (no cleats!).  If you do not have a bat or helmet there will be extra available.

What To Expect: Players will be divided into several groups and will rotate through stations performing different skills such as fielding, throwing, pitching and hitting.  Please note that parents will not be allowed inside the gymnasium during evaluations.

Why Hold Skills Evaluation Tryouts?: We are anticipating a large amount of boys this year that fall into a similar age group.  We do not have enough “of age” players for a Majors team this year.  Therefore, to ensure they get the most out of this season, we will be holding a skills evaluation so we are better able to place them onto the correct skilled team. Equal competitive play is important and vital to a successful baseball season.
