Policy Terms and Conditions:

  1. Coverage:
  1. The policy covers accidental damage to the Chromebook, including but not limited to spills, drops, and other unintentional damage.
  2. The policy covers an unlimited number of repairs during the policy duration with the exception of whole keyboard replacements on the Asus Chromebooks.
  3. Due to the cost of the replacement part, whole keyboard replacements on the Asus model chromebooks will be limited to a single free replacement.
  4. In the event that a total replacement of the Chromebook is required due to irreparable damage or loss, a single replacement Chromebook will be provided.
  1. Eligibility:
  1. All students on Chromebook plans A, B and B2 are eligible to purchase this accidental damage cover plan for their Chromebooks.
  2. Students on options C are automatically enrolled on the plan as part of the yearly cost on option C.
  3. Students on option D will be covered for normal wear and tear or accidental damage, but any other damage will be charged for, at the discretion of the school.
  4. The policy can be purchased during the first 4 months of the academic year, but will only apply for that academic year.
  5. The policy will remain in effect for the duration of the academic year.
  1. Coverage Exclusions:
  1. Intentional damage or misuse of the Chromebook is not covered.
  2. Damage caused by neglect or failure to take reasonable care of the Chromebook is not covered.
  3. Damage caused through not keeping the Chromebook in a suitable case will be classed as failure to take reasonable care of the Chromebook and will not be covered.
  1. Filing a Claim:
  1. In case of accidental damage to a Chromebook, the student must notify the ICT support department.
  2. The ICT support department will assess the damage and determine whether a repair or replacement is required.
  3. If a repair is needed, the ICT support department will carry out the repair and inform the student’s parents.
  4. If a total replacement is required, the student will receive a replacement Chromebook of the same model or a similar model, subject to availability. Any replacement will likely be a refurbished replacement.
  1. Policy Fee:
  1. The accidental damage cover plan costs £22 per academic year, payable at the time of purchase.
  2. The policy fee is non-refundable.
  1. Policy Nature:
  1. This accidental damage cover plan is not an insurance policy.
  2. This plan is not a warranty provided by the Chromebook manufacturer.
  3. It is solely a service agreement between Kingsdown School and the student for the provision of repair and replacement services for accidental damage on devices purchased from the school.
  1. Policy Renewal:
  1. The accidental damage cover plan must be renewed at the beginning of each academic year to maintain coverage.
  2. Failure to renew the policy will result in the termination of coverage.
  1. Replacement and Further Damages:
  1. In the event of a total replacement of a Chromebook under this accidental damage cover plan, any further damages or subsequent repairs to the replacement Chromebook will not be covered by the policy.
