Manufacturing Assistant - Job Description
We are looking for passionate people to join our in-house production team. We make incredible natural products for Afro hair including shampoos, creams and oils and you will be contributing to a growing business by assisting with the manufacturing of innovative products across Afrocenchix that are aligned with our brand’s ethical and sustainable brand values.
No former experience needed! This is a fantastic entry-level role that could lead to further work in manufacturing, formulations or even business development with Afrocenchix. Working closely with our operations team, you will be required to work on manufacturing new and existing products. Responsibilities will include compliance with all appropriate procedures and documentation.
Please be aware, the role will entail standing for long periods, working in warm temperatures and repeated lifting/carrying of ingredients and products.

Salary: £18,000
Job Type: 12 months Fixed Term Contract (may have opportunity to extend)
Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 9am - 5pm (this role cannot be done remotely)
Location: London, Wood Green
Main responsibilities:
- Follow guidance to manufacture, fill and label products under supervision
- Use equipment including, scales and mixers with high accuracy
- Pack completed products into boxes
- Use moving equipment such as trolleys
- Gather raw materials for production, ensuring compliance to stock rotation
- Count stock and manage inventory using online platforms
- Order raw materials from suppliers
Experience, Interests and Skills:
- Laboratory experience: cosmetics, health and beauty products or personal care (educational experience counts)
- Strong interest in our community and care for our customers
- Friendly, confident, well-presented and customer-focused
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Professional telephone manner
- Superb attention to detail and accuracy
- Competent with emails, Google suite, Microsoft Word and Excel
- Project management experience would be advantageous
- Supporting the rest of the team and carrying out other duties when required
Education:
- A*-B GCSE or equivalent in English, Maths and Science
- A-Level or equivalent in a Science based subject
- Higher Education qualification in Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Formulation or Chemistry related discipline. (Highly desirable not essential).
