Hello Heroes Runners and Walkers!

Thank you for your overwhelming support of law enforcement and fire rescue by making the investment to participate in the 2019 Heroes Run! The first thing we need for you to do is to look up your bib number assignment in this email, print the waiver attached, sign and write your bib number in the upper right hand corner. If you arrive with your waiver signed and ready to hand in at registration check in it will GREATLY expedite your check in on Friday.  If you do not have access to a printer, we will have them on site and you can jump into that line upon arrival.

There is no pre race packet pick up. Packet pick up is at the venue in Demens Landing on Bayshore Drive and 2nd Avenue South, St. Petersburg, FL 33701.  Check in opens beginning at 5 pm and all distance runs begin at 6:30 pm with the 10K being sent across the timing mat first followed by the 5K runners and walkers. The one mile is not a timed event so we will release you as soon as the other walkers are out of the way.

Please park free in either structure at 5 pm:   The Heroes Foundation Parking Garage, 100   2nd Avenue South, St. Petersburg, FL 33701,  or at Al Lang Field 230  1st Street S., St. Petersburg, FL 33701. Both locations are only a short walk to Demens Landing.  After the race Caddy’s on Central is running a drink special on beer and margaritas for everyone with a bib number over the age of 21.

The course can be viewed on Thursday at www.727CanRace.com  It is a closed course without hills and it’s very well marked and staffed with volunteers. Mike will be your bike lead so simply follow the leader. You will each be receiving the beautiful American Flag finisher’s medal after your run (every distance receives one medal per bib number) there are just enough for each of you in this sold out race.

To limit a super competitive crowd we issue top finisher awards to the first 25 males and first 25 females in the 10K and 5K distance. Be sure to hand Suzanne your top finisher’s card before you leave the venue to get your framed award as it’s not feasible to mail them.

Please reply to this email if your are running in honor of someone who has served or is serving. We also want to hear from the group and organizations so that we don’t leave anyone out.  Please reply with your academy, school, PD or fire house! We love you all and you are going to feel that love!

The shirts are being offered in short sleeve or tank and we will have a bag check tent in Demens Landing so you will not need to go back to the car if you don’t want to or don’t have time. Port o lets will be on the venue but we are not able to put them on the course route. If 10K runners want to go down in distance because of this there is no penalty to do so.  For any changes to times or category please see Matt at the Fit2Time bright tent at the finish line before you race.

Please post any photos you take at the race on Facebook under the group: Xanadu Race Management Photos and we will do the same

Your time can be found after you cross the finish line by going to the website on your bib number www.727CanRace.com, click results and enter your bib number. WaaaaLaaaaa! Your chip will be located on your 5K and 10K bib (1 mile will not have a timing chip)

The St. Pete Running Company is offering each participant $30 in tech running socks FREE with the purchase of any pair of shoes.
