Go on a nature walk in your neighborhood. | Make up questions and interview a friend or family member. | Make a list of all the things you like about first grade. | Use sidewalk chalk to write something positive on your neighbors driveway. |
Find 10 things in your house that are a rectangular prism. | Draw a large basket filled with colorful eggs. Write a sight word on each one. | Design an invention that would improve your life. Don’t forget to explain your thinking! | Use a deck of cards to practice your addition and subtraction facts. |
Find a collection of coins and count them. How much did you find? | FaceTime a family member and read them a book. | Build an obstacle course outside and try it out. You can even time yourself and try to beat your time! | Find a silly or unusual place to read. |
Collect your stuffed animals or action figures. Read a story to them. | Help your grown up cook dinner. | Make sock puppets for characters in a book you’ve read and create a puppet show. | Look at your kitchen for 30 seconds. See if you can draw exactly what you saw. |
