All entries should try to remain past-tense, though some are not possible.
Description should be short, concise, and straight to the point. Try to limit it to 3 sentences max. If you need help shortening it, you may consult another player or use AI.
Things That Are Encouraged To Include:
- Server milestones: launches, new features, announcements, events, server updates, migrations, player counters, achievements, etc.
- Staff changes: promotions, demotions, resignations, returns
- Community Events: birthdays, celebrations, player-ran-events, etc.
- External Recognition: YouTuber features, major player influxes, mentioned on websites, etc.
- Anything else that might be deemed worthy to include.
Things That Won’t Be Included:
- Drama, conflicts, or gossip.
- Detailed ban reasons or rule violation.
- Personal attacks of negative characterizations.
- Player’s personal information.
Contributing / Submitting An Event:
You can submit an event by opening a ticket. For your ticket, please include
- The date of the event. A time range will not be allowed (i.e. Feb 3rd - Feb 9th).
- A brief description of the event. 3 sentences max.
- (Optional) A link to pictures relating to the event.
- Keep pictures to 1-2 max if you want them to be embedded in the timeline document.
- You can submit more, but those will have to be linked.
Due to lack of record keeping, some events might have X for dates. If you know the exact day, please open a ticket and let us know!

22 December 2017 - New spawn. The economy, server shops, and the player market has been completely removed from the server. McMMO was removed.
28 December 2017 - Server IP changed to 144.217.209.254. The server started supporting clients that’s higher versions than the server. McMMO was added back. The server’s max player slots has been increased to 20 (from 10)!

2 January 2018 - Economy is re-enabled on the server, market GUI (/market) was added back, infernal mobs were added back, and voting has been implemented on the server.
14 January 2018 - FourtyEight became a moderator.
February
1 February 2018 - Kyrobi talked to a select group of players about plans to shut down the server due to stress.
14 February 2018 - Prior to shutting down, the server was transferred to Fixerboy in hopes that they’ll be able to run the server instead, but his different vision for the server led to community unrest and protests from long-time members. This led to Fixerboy starting his own server in which many Cynagen players transferred over to play.
22 February 2018 - An announcement was made notifying players that the server will shut down at the end of this month.
28 February 2018 - Cynagen shuts down.

1 March 2018 - After the main server shut down, a private server was made for all of the active players on Cynagen and Kyrobi’s friends. This server was called Cynagen Awakens. The server used custom world generation.
1 March 2018 - A popular and well-known player became a staff member on Fixerboy's server, which longtime Cynagen members viewed as abandonment, leading to increased tensions between both sides.
30 March 2018 - After receiving encouragement from Kyrobi’s friends and the remaining players on Cynagen Awakens, Kyrobi decided to bring back Cynagen.
30 March 2018 - Kyrobi created a new Discord for Cynagen. This new Discord is the current one. Discussions of how to fund the server.

3 April 2018 - The end has been disabled and villager for end trades has been added instead. mcMMO and Infernal mobs were removed. The Cynagen webstore for donations has been implemented (Ranks still have not been added).

One day, a user asked a Discord server if they could commission anyone for a server logo. As a joke, Kyrobi messaged them stating that I could do it. They then asked Kyrobi to provide previous work. Kyrobi opened up Microsoft Paint and drew the logo in 5 minutes to send to the user. Kyrobi was promptly blocked.

21 December 2019 - Kyrobi wanted to create a spin-off Cynagen server using what he had learned from the main server, along with fresh new ideas called Cynagen Lite. Since the changes would be too drastic for the main server, he started work on the new server. However, the server never ended up being released.

7 May 2023 - New claims system was implemented. Players continued using golden shovels to claim and sticks to inspect. All existing claims and claim blocks were transferred. New commands included /claimlist, /trustlist, /claimflag, /claiminfo, /trust, and /buyclaimblocks.
7 May 2023 - Within 24 hours of migrating to the new claim systems, the server reverted back to the old claims plugin due to configuration and usage complexity of the new system. Plans were announced to instead improve the old claims system over time with addons such as flags.

4 June 2023 - Cynagen’s 6th anniversary was celebrated. Anniversary collectibles were available via /kit Anniversary2023 (3 items) until the end of the month.

8 August 2023 - New PvP arena was added at /warp pvp. Claims addon was implemented with features including: claim visualization with particles, improved claim list GUI, /eject command to remove players from claims, claim teleportation for $800, claim renaming, and flags for PvP toggling, blacklisting members, and enter/leave messages.
9 August 2023 - Claims teleport price was reduced to $10 for 7 days to celebrate the new claims addon, allowing players to teleport to and rename claims at a discount.
13 August 2023 - Armor stand gravity was enabled to match vanilla behavior (pushed by entities, affected by gravity). Players with armor stands edited using the armor stand editor were advised to disable gravity on them to prevent sinking into the ground. Players with large amounts of armor stands could submit a ticket for bulk gravity disabling.

27 December 2023 - TOMAT0ED organized a major support package donation event, with 5-6 players purchasing over 120 packages simultaneously, distributing more than $120k to online players and pushing the server to 53 concurrent players despite a player cap of 40 players.

14 March 2024 - Chunk reset notice for the Minecraft 1.21 update.
16 March 2024 - Bedrock support was announced to end with the 1.21 update. New Bedrock players were immediately blocked from joining. Existing Bedrock players could still log in temporarily. Players switching to Java could open a ticket for inventory transfer. Bedrock support plugin was removed near the end of next month.

Farms exceeding limits would result in warnings, as well as possible bans. Mob drop requirements for the Blinding Light of Destiny were lowered due to the impact on mob farms.

7 August 2024 - Prom 2024 date voting opened where players vote on what time would be the best for them to attend. At the end, the event was scheduled to be roughly from 9:00AM to 5:00PM (server timezone), with minigames starting a few hours in.
11 August 2024 - Prom 2024 was officially scheduled for August 17, 2024 at 9:00AM (server timezone), lasting 6-8 hours. Three group photo sessions were planned. Speech signups remained open with requirements of 2.5+ minutes on specified topics for an exclusive item. Best outfit contest (fairy theme) and Prom Royalty signups were available via forms.
12 August 2024 - /shopcheck (Now /plots) command shows available plots and plots that are about to expire.
15 August 2024 - Keep inventory was enabled in the nether and end. Build Transfer Service was added for relocating bases. Lucky vote chance increased. BLOD cost reduced from $100k to $62,017. Drakath armor process was streamlined with reduced item costs.
17 August 2024 - Prom 2024 began, running for several hours on a Cynagen Prom server. The main server was down during the event.

19 October 2024 - Playtest was announced for the new Super Ender Dragon fight, scheduled for the following day. No rewards were given during testing, buy keep inventory was enabled and item durability was disabled. The goal was to gather community feedback on difficulty and potential changes.

27 August 2025 - Cosmetics plugin (/cosmetics, particle based) was removed in favor of a new outfit-style system that’s still in development. Players who purchased cosmetics up until this time were reimbursed.

10 September 2025 - OpamanX obtained the Drakath Armor.
15 September 2025 - New outfit-style cosmetics system was implemented. However, there was no way for regular players to purchase them yet. Froggy hat was made available for a limited time as an exclusive cosmetic to celebrate the new cosmetics system.
30 September 2025 - Cosmetics were made available for purchase at /warp pekomart using /cosmeticsbuy. Limited time Halloween cosmetic items were released as well.

17 October 2025 - First test cosmetics competition! Make a cosmetic and submit it.
31 October 2025 - Cosmetic competition canceled due to lack of participation.

6 November 2025 - Cynagen Thanksgiving event started!

2 December 2025 - Xiphrus_ obtained the Drakath Armor.
5 December 2025 - First official Cynagen Cosmetic competition. The theme was Christmas / Holiday.
13 December 2025 - You can now toggle PvP with /pvp on and /pvp off. PvP is off by default, and both players must have it enabled to fight.
21 December 2025 - Cynagen winter event launched, accessible via /server Event. Players fought monster hordes to earn points for kill upgrades, with plans to redeem points for items on the main server later. Players contributing 1,000 blocks to the event tree would receive a special badge.
21 December 2025 - Cynagen character page launched (https://character.cynagen.xyz/) in which players can view their character stats as well as character badges.
24 December 2025 - Christmas/Winter event was shut down due to fundamental mechanical issues requiring a ground-up recode of the entire event. Planned rewards (money, cosmetics, rank vouchers) were not distributed.
25 December 2025 - Cosmetic submission voting opened. Players could vote for their top three favorite submissions via /cosmeticvote in-game.

January
1 January 2026 - Cosmetic submission competition results were announced. The top three spots were:
Third place: SillyFoxie. Second place: Tied with Phaeronth & BigKitsa. First place: Xiphrus_.
4 January 2026 - 40,000th player joined the server! It was Gambinoey_!
12 January 2026 - Server updated to 1.21.11.
24 January 2026 - Alt limit has been changed to 2. You may now only have one other account online at any given time. Due to a long term unnoticed bug, the limit was more than 2 for years.
25 January 2026 - Right-clicking on a tamed mob will show its owner in chat.
26 January 2026 - Velocitea obtained the Blinding Light of Destiny.

1 February 2026 - Chat cooldown has been implemented. Activates when the server has a lot of players online.
4 February 2026 - New website design.

9 February 2026 - CharleeGoatsis accidentally gambled $100,000 instead of $10,000 due to slippery fingers. Gambling is passion! Luckily, one of the admins had equal respect for passion in gambling and offered them back $100k for 5 double chests of cookies.

20 February 2026 - mcMMO exp requirement to level up has been tweaked, allowing leveling up to be possible through grinding instead of only using mcmmo credits. Mcmmo credits was also announced to be removed at the end of the month.

13 March 2026 - Cynagen Travelers event. Small event for players to travel to POI on the new Dynmap and taking a selfie at each location.
